I'm not a BSD person but I gotta know. Since the black haired guy already died (?) once for "were-tiger" does death stick in this series? Or do we think "were-tiger" is coming back? I just. I gotta know.

Black-haired guy was bitten by a vampire presumably before actually dying by throat slash and thus avoided…uh. Dying. Maybe?? Because being a vampire in bsd is more like a very easily transmitted mind control disease?? Except now he isn’t a vampire he just has vampiric traits. Which so far has not actually been explained past a throwaway “oh look you’re more durable now.” This may have cured his formerly fatal lung disease for reasons, since he’s not coughing anymore. Also stole or overwrote his memories for a hot second.

Weretiger is not dead. However he dramatically dove before the blade to save his man amnesiac partner without being sure he’d survive it so we get the reaching for him and then fading slowly moment I’m not still sobbing about or anything.

He’s in the fourth-dimension, which means he’s both outside of and yet has access to all of space and time and he’s using it to simultaneously see memories of his partner’s formative trauma with him—which echoes weretiger’s formative traumas. And because the weretiger is somehow connected to the flow of spacetime re: some kind of magic book that may not actually be a book, he is the only one within this fourth dimensional space to remain himself and conscious. He is currently shoving open a door that probably represents something else on his way to go fight a manmade god. Or himself again. Or both. Also his tiger claws are what the bad guy wants because they can cut through abilities and potentially time itself. When he joins up with his partner’s abilities he can cut through space and reality. So. *squints* him fancy but very much not dead.

Bsd is insane, I will admit readily that I don’t have the scientific or sociopolitical background the author clearly possesses so an unfortunate amount of bsd goes over my head until someone takes the time to break it down for me. (And those of you that do, please know that I love you so much, teach me more things please)

But your Tl;dr is: weretiger’s fine. He’s the protagonist, even if some folks forget that. He’s gonna save everyone presumably with the power of love and acceptance and personal growth and also by beating the shit out of people with his special claws of specialness.
