Summary:

This was such a bad idea, and Buck knew it. For all his judgment of Eddie for his fighting days, for all his thoughts of 'why don't you just talk about it,' here Buck is, doing exactly the same thing.

Buck makes the poor decision to go to a kink club to deal with his emotions. After he's left with no aftercare, someone comes to his rescue.

A story of poor decisions, subdrop, self-discovery, kissing the homies goodnight, and love confessions during an argument.

Buck POV:

Despite how difficult it was to fall asleep the night before, Buck is out almost as soon as his head hits the couch cushion. When he wakes again, Buck is cold and shaky. He shivers violently as he attempts to get a blanket from across the room. It’s a slow process, and he barely manages to not collapse on the short journey, but he soon returns to the couch with his prize. He has half a thought that he should check the time, maybe see if anyone has tried to call him, but sleep takes him before he gets the chance.  Next thing he knows, Buck is woken by the sound of someone in his apartment. 

Eddie POV:

He knows Buck is an adult, he can handle himself, but Eddie still worries.  Between calls, he researches. It has him feeling rather like Buck, which makes his chest ache, but he needs to know. Eddie is also going to need to figure out how to clear his search history after this. He wouldn't be able to explain to anyone why he needed to look up any of this without also giving away way too much about himself and also Buck.  His medical knowledge can only give him so many answers, but a few searches in and reddit is more than happy to fill him in on everything else. He learns more than he ever wanted to know, but one topic continues to stand out to him: subdrop. The way it is being described sounds eerily similar to how Buck was acting, both at the club, and also in his radio silence. Eddie formulates a plan.  The first thing he does when he gets off shift is go to the store. He doesn’t know how stocked Buck’s kitchen is, and he isn’t about to take bets on whether it's having every ingredient known to man, or only ketchup in the fridge kind of week. With Buck, Eddie can never really know.

Eddie enters the apartment as quietly as possible, and his suspicions are proven correct as he sees Buck passed out on the couch. He wishes he could feel relief at that fact, but Buck’s sleep looks to be anything but peaceful. Although he's covered with a blanket, Buck is shivering.  Instead of immediately going to wake Buck like he wants to, Eddie starts to organize the things he brought. He makes a plate for Buck, who doesn’t seem to have any food in his kitchen at the moment – Eddie is glad he thought ahead on that one – and puts the extra food away. He is just finishing his task, when he hears a noise and looks up to see Buck, sitting up on the couch and looking slightly alarmed.  “Hey hey, it’s just me,” Eddie says as he quickly brings the plate and drink over to Buck. Only, his assurances don’t seem to help, and Buck gets even more agitated as Eddie gets closer.  “No no no no no nonononono,” Buck whimpers, burying his face in the blankets. Eddie sets the supplies down on the coffee table, before sitting next to Buck. In a move all too similar to the night before, he gently pulls Bucks hands, and the blanket, away from his face.  “It’s okay, Buck. I promise,” Eddie tries to soothe.

After the fastest shopping trip of his life, Eddie goes to Buck’s apartment. He debates whether he should knock for longer than he’d like to admit to anyone, before eventually just using his key. Buck hasn’t responded to the near hundreds to text messages Eddie and the others have sent, so it’s fair to assume he’s asleep.

👨‍🚒 Clothes Stealing words:

He’s on his way out the door when Eddie asks, “Hey man, you have everything?”  Buck is a little put off by the question, but he brushes it off as Eddie being a mother hen again. “Yup, I got everything I brought” he responds, not wanting Eddie to notice the offending article of clothing he definitely didn't bring.
