Words: 571
Setting: married life AU
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Lee Minhyuk x reader
Life was hard with a pregnant woman by his side but Lee Minhyuk would never complain about his brand new responsibilities.
You were his wife after all. Even if you were complaining all the time, taking up more space on the couch and reprimanding him for every little thing (why didn’t you remember that I have an examination today? why didn’t you change the light bulbs? why didn’t you clean up after yourself?), he loved you with all his heart and none of your unpredictable and hormone-filled behaviours could change his mind.
Not even your midnight trips to the bathroom because you felt like you had to pee all the time, not even your weird food cravings like combining cucumber with peanut butter, and not even your totally random requests in the middle of the night. Sometimes you only wanted him to open the windows, put on some soothing music or sing you to sleep (and of course the baby).
So he wasn’t even surprised when it was 2 am and you were making your way into the kitchen, whining that you wanted to have chocolate chip cookies, but of course you ran out of them that morning. In fact, you seemed to run out of them every single morning because that was the only thing you could eat for a whole week. If you ate something else, you had to throw up in a minute or so. Not like you could mind though. You were in love with chocolate chip cookies.
“Honey!” You exclaimed as you turned to your husband who looked at you with a slightly weary expression. The closer you got to the little boy’s (yes, it would be a boy!) expected birthday, the less both of you could sleep.
“Yeah?” Minhyuk blinked frequently, so that he could keep himself awake. It was that kind of sleepiness that drove you both crazy; you wanted to sleep so badly but neither of you could actually fall asleep, so you usually ended up discussing the baby’s name or making future plans together.
“I want to eat chocolate chip cookies! Right here, right now!” You whined like a toddler, pouting as you looked at the cookies’ usual (but now empty) place on the shelf.
Minhyuk let out a tired sigh. His gaze darted between different parts of the room and finally settled on the oven. You raised an eyebrow in question. What was he thinking about?
“How about baking chocolate chip cookies together?” He suggested sleepily. As he saw your surprised expression, he felt the need to explain his idea.
“I’m almost sure that none of the convenience stores are open at 2 am. Plus, it can’t be a difficult recipe. We have chocolate, flour, eggs, milk, sugar… what else do we need?” He shrugged his shoulders and you seriously felt like crashing him into a hug. On the flipside, considering the size of your stretched stomach, you weren’t sure it would be a good idea. Instead, you winked at him.
“That’s the best idea I’ve ever heard in my life!” You clapped your hands enthusiastically and the smile he gave you in return was worth any sleepless night, stomach pain, bloating, so literally any inconvenience that came with expecting a baby.
You two ended up baking chocolate chip cookies in your underwear at 2 am just because you were craving it and just because you had the best husband ever.

Words: 887
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Seo Eunkwang x Kwang Hani (OC)
Warning: slightly drunk people singing at a karaoke bar lol
Kwang Hani hated nothing more than company dinners followed by the most boring karaoke sessions of history. What annoyed her even more was the fact that everyone kept talking about those karaoke nights until the next occasion arrived.
Not until a certain someone appeared in her life, did her opinion change.
The day it happened Hani was already fed up with her co-workers and didn’t feel like spending a couple more hours with any of them. Nevertheless, company dinners were compulsory but in return the renting of the karaoke bar and the meals were paid by the company. If she had to pay, she would hand in her resignation right away because she couldn’t afford that much money every month (since the dinners were monthly).
Taking her extra hours at work into consideration, she could barely made it to the dinner. Barely. In the end, she arrived at the restaurant in time but her boss didn’t even start until he made sure that everyone was already present.
“Where’s Ilhoon?” She inquired as she sat beside the new HR intern – Yook Sungjae.
Ilhoon was usually the life of the party, so she was surprised that he didn’t show up that day. It’s not like she had anything to do with the said guy, it’s just that he was always teasing her as they worked in the same department and she found it peculiar that there was no one to mess with her.
“He’s ill.” The young boy shrugged his shoulders.
“What?” Hani furrowed her eyebrows in question. “He seemed perfectly fine when he left work with me.” She reasoned, trying to recall how Ilhoon had looked when they left the company. He seemed like his usual casual self, there was nothing extraordinary about his appearance, nor his behaviour.
“Actually…” Sungjae looked around like he was about to tell her a big secret. He moved closer to her and lowered his voice. “He has a date.” The intern announced with a mischievous smile on his face.
Hani’s mouth slackened. She shot up an eyebrow as she didn’t want to believe what she had heard. Ilhoon had a date? For real? He was the last guy she thought would have a girlfriend. He wasn’t a bad guy, he was actually pretty nice if he made an effort which didn’t happen most of the time.
“Oh I see.” She bobbed her head while Sungjae smiled his trademark smile.
The rest of the dinner was spent in a somewhat awkward atmosphere. For the first time ever, she was glad they went to the karaoke bar after the meal because at least she didn’t have to sit beside Sungjae. The guy was dancing with himself in the other side of the room while she tried her best to stay awake.
A question kept gnawing at her and didn’t let her rest in peace for the rest of the night. If Ilhoon had a date, why couldn’t she? She wasn’t jealous, she just didn’t get it. Why was her love life practically non-existent? Why everyone seemed to have a significant other while all she had in her flat was a grumpy cat and a dying cactus. Hani couldn’t help but ponder why it didn’t work out for her. Was there anything wrong with her?
As she was moping and having an existential crisis, she couldn’t help but be appalled by someone’s singing. The voice was unfamiliar but it shouldn’t have been a surprise since they weren’t the only ones at the bar; there was a group of friends as well. Half of them were already drunk, so were her co-workers, small wonder why her colleagues were more than fond of the idea that strangers would sing with them. What is more, they competed against each other to see which team was better. Of course, Hani wasn’t brave enough to participate, she was caught up in her thoughts anyway.
Yet, that voice was sending shivers down her spine. Even though the mood was ruined because of the heart-breaking song, Hani couldn’t have been happier. The talented (and handsome) young man was singing her absolute favourite song – Miracles in December by EXO. A few of the already-too-drunk people held hands and started humming in the background like they were at a real concert.
The gorgeous stranger felt the curious and amazed eyes on him and Hani didn’t know why but when he turned around to face his audience, he winked at her. She was sure that it was directed at her since she was the only person sitting on the couch.
Oh man, she totally blew it right then and there.
She reassured herself that she wasn’t totally sober, that’s why she was imagining things, but when she found a phone number on her office desk the next day, she immediately thought of the handsome stranger. When she turned to her right, she caught Sungjae staring at her with a playful smile plastered on his face.
“Was it you?” She raised an eyebrow in question. The intern shrugged his shoulders.
“Maybe I helped you find a date.” He boasted a boyish grin of his and Hani couldn’t help but smile with him.
From that day on, she didn’t hate karaoke bars anymore. In fact, it was her and the handsome stranger’s − Eunkwang’s – favourite place too.
As a part of my Birthday Prompt Party, Honeymoon à la Changsub is dedicated to the enthusiastic @k0ntz who has requested #2 „Right now, I don’t know if I want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge.” ”Can I pick?” with Changsub from BTOB. 😉 I hope you like it! 💖
Words: 723
Setting: husband AU, honeymoon AU
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Lee Changsub x reader
You were going nuts. For real. You’ve said it many times before but you couldn’t take it anymore.
Lee Changsub was the most eccentric person you’ve ever met. He also happened to be your husband. You didn’t know exactly how or when you actually started to grow feelings for him but time could already prove that he was the one for you.
Despite the fact that he was always making fun of you when you tripped while walking down the stairs or started to speak in satori in the middle of a conversation, he was a gentle person in general. Not to mention the fact that you had several hilarious moments thanks to him. You even had to call the fire brigade once because he almost burned down the kitchen after a failed attempt to cook for you. You even had to buy a new bike because he didn’t have one and when he used yours, he managed to run into a truck and damaged the bike so badly that you didn’t even recognise it at first sight. Needless to say, he ended up breaking his own leg as well.
Taking all your shared misfortunes into consideration, you shouldn’t have been surprised that you got lost during your honeymoon. Not only once. You got lost for the fifth time that day. The fifth. You were already sick of hearing him say:
“I got this, honey. I know where we have to go this time. The last one was a mistake on my part but now I know. Trust me!” He used his puppy eyes against you and you immediately knew that you were under his spell. You could never say no to his puppy eyes.
So when you got lost for the sixth freaking time, you had enough.
“Okay, Changsub. That was it!” You clapped your hands to gain his attention.
He suddenly turned around to look at you, an amused expression being displayed on his face. On the other hand, you weren’t amused at all. In fact, you were more furious than ever. It would have been alright if you hadn’t been on your honeymoon. Three years with him and he could still surprise you. Life wasn’t meant to be boring beside him but you couldn’t decide whether you liked all the trouble he got you into or actually disliked it.
“I’m hungry, I’m tired, my shoes have officially given up on me, and we still haven’t found the light tower we wanted. So please, Changsub, just don’t tell me that you will get it right every single time you get it wrong. Don’t get my hopes up!” You almost begged him as your patience was wearing thin. Really thin.
You were in the middle of a Thai beach and you would swear that there weren’t any light towers around but your husband insisted on visiting the “most romantic sight” in the neighbourhood. The stuffy, hot weather, the lack of people around you and the ever-stretching beaches in front of your eyes didn’t help either. You were fed up with everything. You didn’t imagine that your honeymoon would go like this.
“I think we’ve just found the light tower we were looking for.” He pointed to somewhere behind you, so you turned around and came in sight with a beautiful and giant light tower. A reassured sigh immediately left your chapped lips.
“Right now, I don’t know if I want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge.” You said as you turned back to Changsub who was grinning more widely than ever. He was sure proud of the fact that he didn’t lie this time. He really found where you two had to head off.
“Can I pick?” He raised his eyebrows in question but you merely shook his head.
“No.”
“So are you going to kiss me?” Your husband took a step closer to you like he was trying to prepare himself for your move. However, it was time for your revenge.
“No.” You refused him right away and took a step back. “I’m looking for a bridge right now.” You teased him and enjoyed seeing his bewildered expression.
Well, he deserved it after all. You weren’t the one who got both of you lost in a different country during your honeymoon. He had to pay for his crime.

Words: 607
Setting: boyfriend AU
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Seo Eunkwang x reader
You were certain that there was no end to your work, no end to your meetings and no end to your papers.
To make matters worse, you should have been preparing lunch because you were already living on ready-to-eat meals as you didn’t have the time to cook for yourself.
The absolute worst thing was that due to all the stress your job gave you, you didn’t have time for yourself, let alone for your boyfriend – Eunkwang. You knew that he was one of the most patient people you’ve ever met yet you felt guilty because you had to let him down every time he wanted to go out with you. You knew that this can’t go on any further but you didn’t know how to stop.
The days got monotonous, boring and very disheartening. Everything felt the same and you were stuck in that crazy cycle of work, little amount of sleep and work again.
Luckily, Eunkwang was always there when you needed him, so you weren’t surprised that he was the one who put an end to all your suffering. He didn’t need to do anything extraordinary, he merely walked into your room while you were working and stood by you for a solid minute before you decided to ask:
“What are you doing here?” You let out a weary sigh as you were still typing on the computer, unable to tear your gaze off the computer.
“I’m here for my daily fix of hugs and kisses.” He announced joyfully like it was breaking news, even though it couldn’t have been further from the truth.
“Look, Eunkwang. I have work to do.” You reminded him as you pointed to the screen.
“But you always tell me that.” He let out a childish whine while he still stood by you like he was your bodyguard.
A moment of silence passed by but it was enough for you to come to the conclusion that you had to either talk to him face-to-face or tell him off for the next few minutes because he wouldn’t go away only if you literally forced him to leave you alone.
Yet, when you turned around to face him, the pout on his face made your heart ache. The past few weeks were a blur and you had to admit that you didn’t cast a glance at him like the way you used to. Therefore, you didn’t even notice how worried and tired he looked. It was the first time that it crossed your mind that maybe your behaviour affected him as well.
“Come on!” He tried to perk you up, trying his best to lighten up your mood. “One hug wouldn’t hurt you.” He pointed out with a playful wink.
Under the happy-to-go façade, you could tell that he was also struggling. You didn’t want to hurt him with your actions and cold behaviour but you just couldn’t stop.
However, as you were looking at him this time, you didn’t have the heart to shrug off his assistance. He was your boyfriend after all. You couldn’t neglect him because of stupid things like those papers on your desk. You wouldn’t complain if those papers disappeared but you would be devastated if Eunkwang did. You didn’t want to lose him.
“You’re right. I feel like I could use a hug right now.” You finally admitted after some seconds of contemplation and he didn’t even wait for you to stand up properly, he immediately crushed you into a big bear hug.
You had to admit that there was no one who could give better hugs than your one and only boyfriend, Seo Eunkwang.
As a part of my Birthday Prompt Party, Flight 928 is dedicated to the enthusiastic @k0ntz who has requested #37 „I’ll share the blankets with you” with Hyunsik from BTOB. 😉 I hope you like it! 💖
PART 2
Words: 726
Setting: airport AU
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Lim Hyunsik x reader
You couldn’t believe that you got stuck in the airport’s terminal for another 8 hours because your flight was delayed and the terrible snowstorm out there didn’t allow you to leave the whole place.
You knew that you were an extremely unlucky person but you never thought that your lack of luck was to this extent. You had already missed an important business meeting, and now it seemed that you would miss another one. Not to mention the extreme amount of work that you would have to take on due to the unfortunate circumstances!
If that wasn’t already enough, you had to point out that it was getting late, you were getting sleepy and moody, and of course you didn’t have a single blanket with you in that terminal that was cold like an ice castle. The snowstorm messed with the heating, plus the staff couldn’t find anyone who would fix the problem. It goes without saying but no one wanted to commute in that weather.
You didn’t know if your annoyance was written on your face, or the handsome guy with the knitted jumper was always this kind, but he came up to you with a shy smile painting his attractive lips.
You looked at him with curiosity while he looked at you with anxiety.
“I’m sorry, I really don’t want to bother you, but the thing is that…”
His voice trailed off, his eyes suddenly darting all over the terminal. He was obviously nervous, way more nervous than he should have been. You were sure that you weren’t intimidating but maybe your grumpiness was showing on your face. You didn’t know, yet you couldn’t stand watching him suffer, so you spoke up instead.
“You didn’t bother me, really. It’s not like I could go anywhere, right?” You made an attempt to clear up the embarrassment hovering above both of you, giggling as you said the last words out loud.
The gorgeous stranger’s features slowly yet significantly softened, his eyes creating happy little crescents as his lips raised into a tiny little smile. You could tell that he was still nervous as hell but at least not as much as he used to be.
“Right.” He bobbed his head in agreement, then cleared his throat to regain his confidence. “I caught sight of you rubbing your eyes, so I guess you are already ready to fall asleep.” He started cautiously.
“That’s right. I feel like I could fall asleep right now.” You gestured wildly, slightly embarrassing yourself in front of a total stranger but you couldn’t care honestly. Looking like a real weirdo wouldn’t be the worst thing that happened to you that day. On top of that, you were already too sleepy to care.
“I also saw that you didn’t have a blanket with you. It’s too cold here, and I don’t want you to catch a cold, so I thought…” He scratched the back of his neck, making you smile a bit wider. He was too adorable to be real. You were pretty sure that you were already dreaming.
“I’ll share the blankets with you.” The handsome stranger held up the baby blue blanket that he was holding and that you didn’t notice before.
You were sure that if you hadn’t been already half-asleep, your jaw would have dropped to the floor. How on Earth a guy like him was real? Offering to share his blankets with you because he saw that you were freezing? Catching sight of you rubbing your eyes? Come on, how cute was that!
You couldn’t think of anything else besides the fact that he was the kindest person you had ever met in your whole life, so you gave in without thinking.
“I’d love that.” You answered with a weary yet honest smile. “But please tell me your name! I can’t thank my saviour without knowing his name.” You added curiously, your eyes already scanning him from top of bottom. The guy’s shoulders immediately slumped.
“I’m Lim Hyunsik.”
“I’d love to share the blankets with you, Hyunsik.” You admitted sheepishly, a sudden blush tinting your face scarlet red. You couldn’t help but blush when he looked at you with his mesmerizing coffee eyes and that eye smile of his.
You were certain that you would have the sweetest dream with a lucky charm like him by your side.

Words: 1213
Setting: high school AU
Genre: action, fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: best friend!Sungjae x secret spy!reader
You didn’t want to end up in the school’s janitor closet with your best friend but you didn’t have a choice. They were after you.
The only problem was that Sungjae didn’t know who they were. He shouldn’t have known.
“Can you please tell me why we are locked in the school’s janitor closet?” The boy asked frantically as his hands were searching for the light switch in the utter darkness. Despite the fact that you dragged him into the closet with you, not bothering to answer any of his questions, he was still in a quite sane state.
You immediately grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him closer, so that he wouldn’t search for the light switch any longer. Even though now his body was pressed against yours, it was the only way you could avoid getting caught. If he turned on the lights, they would find you immediately. Despite the fact that the closet only had a small window, its lights could turn both of you in.
“I promise I’ll tell you later but it’s not the right time to discuss it. So please keep quiet, Sungjae! They are coming.” You warned him indignantly, your heart hammering wildly.
Even though you were trained how to take care of yourself, this time you had another person to take care of. On top of that, that person happened to be your best friend and you wouldn’t forgive yourself if he got hurt because of you.
“Who?” Sungjae blurted out, his eyes widening in fear.
“Ssshh…” You put your index finger on his lips as you caught sight of the two men wandering in the corridor. Luckily, the closet had a tiny little window, so you could see what they were up to and whether they were getting closer or went further away from you.
When they showed up in the library approximately 3 minutes before the closet incident, you froze for a moment and your best friend noticed the change in behaviour. Yet, you didn’t think twice. You were trained, so your mind immediately started searching for a way out. After you reminded yourself that the library had two entrance options, you managed to sneak out of the place because the two masculine men were coming in from the opposite direction.
Needless to say, Sungjae liked to be involved in everything, so he couldn’t watch you escape without knowing why you were suddenly so eager to leave the library. He kept questioning you on the way and even managed to fall in step with you. When you found the fire exit closed, you were so scared to see the men behind you in the corridor and being left with limited options that you did what was probably the only thing you could do.
You grabbed Sungjae by the arm, tossed him into the closet and followed him without hesitation. You hastily closed the door, hoping that you managed to escape and protect yourself and Sungjae, too.
But of course Sungjae couldn’t shut his mouth, he was always too curious. Nevertheless, you didn’t have the time, neither the right circumstances to share with him why you were chased by bodyguard-looking dudes.
You saw from the corner of your eyes that the two men turned left at the end of the corridor, so you were relieved. You let out a weary sigh and looked at your best friend. When you realised that your finger was still on his lips and he blinked at you with his eyes wide open, you took a step back and let go of him.
“What was that?” He whispered, his voice shaking a bit. He peeked out of the window but only found an empty corridor. Small wonder why he looked so confused when he reverted his eyes back to you.
“I need to tell you something.”
“Well, I’m not surprised.” He let out an awkward giggle. You saw that his chest was still rising wildly like he had just run a marathon. He tried to catch his breath before he continued. “I would be mad if you didn’t tell me anything about this whole action movie-like running and searching for a place to hide. Really, I thought that we were in some kind of a show and played secret spies who were chased by some bad guys.” He joked half-heartedly just to cover up his bewilderment.
When he examined your expression and saw that you didn’t laugh at his absurd suggestion, let alone shake your head as a sign of protest, his jaw dropped.
“You can’t say that…” He gasped. You nodded a bit reluctantly.
“I’m actually a secret spy and those men were chasing me because I found something that they wouldn’t want to reveal. So for the first time in your life, your theory actually proved to be right.” You explained with a heavy heart, afraid to see his reaction.
Your parents obviously knew about your training since they were spies as well. They didn’t train you but they knew the person who was responsible for your training. Other than that, you had only Sungjae who was your best friend because no one got so close to you that you had to worry they would find out about your little secret. It was sometimes difficult to balance school and your secret occupation but he wasn’t suspicious of your sudden illnesses and worldwide trips with your family. Your parents were fairly rich (thanks to their job) and you sometimes had to go overseas for business stuff.
Yet, no matter what you thought your best friend would tell you, Sungjae merely laughed it off.
“Oh my gosh, my best friend is a secret spy! I mean how cool is that?” He let out a carefree giggle and crashed you into a big bear hug.
You honestly felt like crying in his warm embrace after such intense minutes but you were too shocked to move, let alone cry.
“Believe me, I’ll support you as best as I can and I won’t tell your secret to anyone. I promise!” He put his hand on his heart as he broke out of the hug, a sudden serious expression painted on his face.
Maybe you learned hundreds of techniques on how to attack someone with only a simple pan but you weren’t thought how to react when your best friend got to know that you were a secret spy without making a fuss about it.
So instead of doing anything extraordinary, it was you who crashed him into a hug this time. You were so thankful that you didn’t know how to express yourself. You were good with knives but you weren’t good with words. Such a weird girl, right?
“Thank you.” You whispered on the verge of crying, hugging him tighter than ever.
“I should be the one who’s saying thank you.”
“Why would you?” You furrowed your eyebrows in question. Why would he thank you for scaring him to death with this little action movie scene?
“Thank you for saving my ass.” Sungjae said seriously but his joke was the only thing that could hold you back from crying.
Maybe being locked in the school’s janitor closet wasn’t the worst thing after all. You were both alive in the end.

Words: 830
Setting: siblings AU
Genre: fluff, comedy, slice of life
Pairing: Peniel Shin x reader
You were on your way to the grocery store with your big brother – Peniel -, huffing and puffing like a toddler because you were doomed.
You went out with your friends the week before and ended up getting drunk, so your parents got mad at you. It’s not like you didn’t get drunk before but they never knew about it. You usually stayed at one of your friends’ house and only showed up at home when you were sober again.
Yet, you weren’t so lucky this time. You were so tipsy that you didn’t care where you were going, you just wanted to sleep. It didn’t even cross your mind that you would get caught by your overprotective parents. The alcohol numbed the sensible part of you.
Peniel tried his best to cheer you up but considering the fact that he was chosen to be your body guard while your parents were away for a romantic weekend, you weren’t in the mood to act like you were happy. You almost felt like he was babysitting, so you couldn’t leave the house (except for grocery shopping of course because Peniel couldn’t even tell the difference between the white rice and brown rice), nor invite friends or do anything that your parents would find inappropriate. For a week at least.
This was until you saw a cute little stray dog wandering on the streets, looking lost and helpless. Judged by the desperate look on its face, you could tell that the puppy was abandoned for a long time and you didn’t have the heart to merely pass by the fluffy creature. Instead, you crouched down and patted its head.
“Poor little thing! Who would want to get rid of you?” You said, pouting at the heart-wrenching sight. The little puppy’s fur should have been white but it was grey from all the dirt that covered its body. Its eyes were oh so sad, its desperate whimpering tugging at your heartstrings.
A sudden idea hit you as you examined the little dog. You turned to your big brother to share your idea with him. To be precise, to convince him that it was a good one.
“Peniel…” You cooed gleefully, the sudden change in your behaviour obviously taking him by surprise.
“Oh no! I know that look on your face.” He said cautiously, not knowing what was waiting for him. You had several silly or even impossible suggestions in the past, small wonder why his eyes were full of doubt.
“I know you haven’t had the best experience with dogs in the past but look at its face…” You pointed to the puppy, hoping that its expression left such an impact on him as it did on you.
Truth to be told, since Peniel was a kid, he tried to avoid dogs as much as possible. A bulldozer once bit him and no matter how many years went by, he still couldn’t recover from the shock the incident gave him.
“Please, please, can we keep it?” You even tried your best puppy eyes but he merely let out a regretful sigh in return.
“You know I don’t really have a say in the matter. Mom and dad should decide whether we can keep it or not and they are not too pleased with your behaviour lately, so I’m not sure the puppy would be a good idea.” He reasoned quite honestly but you couldn’t blame him. He didn’t want you to get too carried away just to get your heart broken.
“Please, please, please! Maybe you can talk some sense into them.” You pleaded, suddenly pumped up after hours of moping.
Maybe it was your puppy eyes or the first smile of the day on your face but Peniel didn’t turn you down. At least not immediately. His eyes scanned the little puppy beside you and you swore you could see a hint of longing in his eyes. Wait what? Your brother was worried about a dog? A REAL DOG?
“I can try but I’m not so sure it’ll actually work.”
“I don’t care!” You exclaimed as you jumped up and down in front of him. “We’re going to have a puppy, a cute little puppy and−“
“I’ve said there’s a chance they won’t let it stay with us.” He warned you like a responsible big brother should but even he couldn’t help a tiny smile forming on his lips.
“You are the best, Peniel! Thank you so much!” You thanked him and immediately crushed him into a big bear hug because you were too restless to contain your excitement. He laughed at your reaction and hugged you back.
That’s what a big brother should do after all. Taking care of his little sister and trying his best to cheer her up.
Even if you have been complaining for hours and acting like an annoying little kid, he wouldn’t want to see you suffer even more. That’s why you loved him even more.

Lim Hyunsik would swear that you were the most adorable human creature whom he had seen sleeping.
You were so peaceful, your hair creating a halo around your head, looking like a dark waterfall. Your chest was constantly rising and falling like it was part of a mysterious symphony that your body composed. You looked so innocent, almost like his younger sister, even though you were already a grown-up woman and his sister didn’t even turn 6. The fact that you fell asleep on his shoulder made him the happiest man on Earth.
The touch of your warm and soft baby-like skin was making his heart race like crazy, his erratic heartbeat could even compete against professional horse riders, and he would still come in first place for sure. He was fond of the way your heart beat beside his, he sure enjoyed listening to the cacophony of your different yet oh so same melodies. It’s like he was your complement; when your heart was taking a quick break, his heart was beating more rapidly than ever.
In the beginning, he was sure that he made a fool out of himself when he came up to you hours ago to share his blankets with you. Yet, as he was looking at your sleeping figure now, he didn’t regret his decision.
At first, he didn’t even know what hit him. He caught sight of you across the terminal and he hated seeing people as they were freezing, so he gathered up the courage to speak to you. Even though he got embarrassed from the very start, your angel-like smiles could soothe his nerves, and by the time he sat beside you, the state of his heart had already gone back to normal.
You two shared your stories of how you ended up at the airport under the warmth of his baby blue blanket. He got to know that you were a project manager and this little inconvenience costed you lots of time and a precious business meeting. He could tell right away that you were diligent, precise and enthusiastic because the way you talked about your job was one of a kind. He didn’t even dare to question your words.
Hyunsik confessed that he wasn’t away on a business trip like you, he actually visited his cousin – Sungjae − who created a band and his cousin invited him to their first ever concert.
You respected him a lot since you weren’t sure that you would do the same if you were in his shoes. You always put your job first, you barely had time for yourself, let alone for your family and friends. You had a non-existent social life, so neither your relatives, nor your acquaintances wanted to persuade you to go out with them. You knew it wasn’t a good thing but you couldn’t help. You always wanted to do your best.
However, Hyunsik was as understanding as no one else. He was curious as a little boy, and everything could pique his curiosity from the kimchi recipe of your grandmother’s to your annoying neighbour’s cat that always sneaked into your garden whenever its owner didn’t keep his eyes on it. Those hours at the terminal flew by like a seagull across the beach; you saw it for a moment and then it was long gone. Four hours never seemed so short before.
Due to the fact that you couldn’t sleep because the conversation with Hyunsik went on and on, you got sleepy on the plane ride and fell asleep almost immediately after taking off.
Hyunsik couldn’t mind you sleeping on him, even though it wasn’t intentional at first. Though he really needed to use the bathroom once, he just didn’t have the heart to wake you up, so he waited until you woke up looking confused, eyes not focusing anywhere.
“Oh my gosh, did I really fall asleep on your shoulder?” You exclaimed swiftly as you rubbed your eyes, trying to get rid of the fatigue.
“Yes, but don’t worry. You didn’t bother me.” Hyunsik shrugged it off casually. He had to admit that you were adorable while sleeping, and it already felt peculiar not having your head on his shoulder.
“You were too comfy, to be honest.” You giggled childishly as you thought back of one of the best dreams in your life.
He surprised you with a wide yet shy smile and even a small laugh escaped his lips.
The announcement about the arrival was already made, so you had to start getting your grip together. You were in the middle of putting your earphones into your handbag when you heard the boy’s honey-like voice.
“You know, I was just thinking…” He started slowly like he wasn’t sure what he wanted to say. You turned around to see him, only to come face-to-face with a flustered Hyunsik. Gosh, this boy really needed to work on his confidence, especially with his exceptional manners. If he was a bit more confident, he would sure make thousands of girls fall for him.
“Do you fancy grabbing lunch together?” He finally blurted out, his idea making you gape in awe. You weren’t baffled because it was an outrageous idea – oh no, it was more than an excellent idea – but because it was him who asked this question.
Yet, just like when you said yes to his offer concerning sharing the blankets, you couldn’t say no this time either.
“Yes, that sounds great.” You nodded with the widest smile possible. You couldn’t imagine that your smile would get wider once his lips also raised into a smile but it actually happened.
Hyunsik would swear that you were like the sun on the greyish sky of his life while you would swear that he was like the beautiful rainbow after your terrible rainstorm-like day.
