Tony Head was a wonderful actor, very talented. He also seemed to be a genuinely good person. This past year and a half hasn't been kind to the Buffy fandom...
I grew up watching Buffy and I can't express how much the characters, and the actors who played them, are still a part of me to this day.
He'll be missed. 😟

rewatched surprise and innocence for the first time since watching it for the first time four years ago. pain.

the crushing but casual cruelty of the way Angel tosses out a “love you too” is so well done in Innocence. because he’s been dismissive and disparaging of Buffy this whole scene and she’s been so worried about him for hours and now trying so hard to understand and find reason for her boyfriend suddenly treating her like shit and she’s desperate to remind him of their love. her proclamation is shaky but real, and the uncaring way Angel’s cavalier reply trips off his tongue really does an excellent job of indicating that statements of love could mean the world….or they could just be words that mean nothing other than lip service. it is the actions that count. brilliantly devastating.
gah! Buffy had Angel incapacitated at the end of Innocence and she just left him there. I understand her not being able to kill him, she’s human, it makes sense even if it’s not logical. what kills me is that she knows he’s evil and has actively tried to kill her friends and the world and she doesn’t think to chain him up or something so that he can’t get away to kill more or torment Sunnydale. 🤦♀️
