Guys I got to Passion.

Guys help I'm not ok.

I knew she was going to die but, fuck, I didn't know it'd be like this. She was so close to fixing everything. Angel's cure, her relationship with Giles, Buffy's forgiveness. All of it was literally in her hands.

And God the way Giles found her. When I first saw the rose on his door I thought he was going to immediately realize it was a threat and I was bracing for it, but then he picked it up and he smiled and it was so much worse than what I was expecting. The entire time he was in the house half of me was desperate for him to just find her so I wouldn't have to see how hopeful he looked, but the other half just wanted to pause the episode there and never finish it so I wouldn't have to see all that hope die. And that obvious suicide mission? I love that trope but keep forgetting how much it hurts. Buffy literally had to smack the sense back into him, and I just know that she feels horribly guilty about hitting him but she can't quite regret it because she needs him.

This is going up there with Tenrose in Doomsday for Episodes of Television I'll Never Recover From.

The first time I watched BTVS, I watched it with a friend who'd seen it all before, and I always knew when something was about to happen based on how she was acting. If she wasn't paying much attention, the scene had no plot or character relevance. If she was preemptively grinning, something cool was about to happen. If she was watching through her fingers, someone was about to die.

I remember being really unnerved when we got to "Passion", because she got very quiet, grabbed a blanket, tucked herself up in it, and kept pulling it higher and higher as the episode progressed, until I could only see her eyes over the top. Wasn't long before I realised why.

All of this to say, I'm rewatching that episode now and you can fucking bet I've just grabbed myself a blanket

Nothing like watching the last Jenny x Giles scene and knowing it's the last scene. My heart breaks at the sight of Giles seeming so happy at the idea of fixing things with her. And then he doesn't get a chance to😭
