BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1997-2003)
"blood ties" S5 E13
people who say you have to just “get through” s1 of buffy pmo that shit is sooo charming and fun sorry some of you don’t get it
Liking Spike more than Angel is extremely funny when you're Scottish. Like, as a point of principle, do you know how much the Irish guy has to piss me off for me to actually prefer the Englishman?
One thing that will always make me sad is that we didn't get to have more scenes with Spike and Tara. Like, no one will ever make me believe they wouldn't have been one hell of a duo. On the surface, they seem so utterly different, Tara being so quiet and Spike being a chaotic disaster, but as a human, William was actually very much alike Tara in a way.
The muscle cramp scene is probably one of my favorite things ever. Making him jealous by saying that Richard guy was cute. It was priceless. But it still didn't feel like mocking or bad intentions because that's just who Tara is.
For a while, Tara being the only one who knows about Spuffy sexy times could have been used much more, and it would have been so fun. She was so non-judgmental with Buffy about it and kept her secret. I needed more muscle cramp-like jokes!
And Spike being unintentionally responsible for all of them realizing Tara's family was full of shit with the "demon blood" could have started it. She could have awkwardly told him something like "Thanks for punching me in the face and proving I'm not a demon"
And I almost forgot about them running away from the knights in S5, and Tara, being mind-sucked, wanting to look out the bus window and accidentally burning Spike's hand. But instead of being angry about it, he says something like his hand healing already and that she can look out of the window again. Such a lovely moment.
I just love them both. We could have had so many fun moments.
But also Faith. We needed more Spike and Faith scenes. It was a crime we didn't get more of them. Those two have the vibe of *two dumb bitches telling each other exactly*
They barely know each other and are discussing sex fantasies in the basement during an apocalypse, but like, in a totally platonic and chill way. Damn, I just love that scene, with Buffy walking in and getting jealous as hell, and them just chilling there. They are two of the most chaotic characters in the show, we needed that chaos!
The fight they had in the kitchen was fantastic, but it was not enough.
I can't believe I Robot You Jane is one of the lowest rated episodes of Buffy, it's such a fun time! We got the introduction of Jenny Calendar and all her fun interactions with Giles. Moloch is a fun one-off antagonist with a cool design, especially in metal form. Some pure 90's cheese, "I'm jacked in." A Willow centric episode! And Buffy and Xander working themselves into a protective frenzy because they care so much about Willow!! It's just a really solid Monster of the Week episode, perfect S1 vibes.
Dawn is so underrated. She taught herself how to read Sumerian for crying out loud! When they do the shadow puppet show, and she reads a broken but understandable translation to get it started?? Come on. She deserves so much more appreciation.
that was so dean-grenade-launcher of her
The scene lives in my head rent free lmao. Also, really wanted to draw them all together so they are being their sad selves
