Thinkin’ about how if they’d spent the night at the gas station in Spiral, Buffy and Spike probably would’ve made a little spot somewhere and slept on either side of Dawn

There are so many things about Spiral that make me crazy and an underappreciated one is the way Spike and Buffy’s clothes match in this episode. It’s actually such an interesting reoccurring theme; their clothes match in episodes (like checkpoint) where it’s stated that Spike is the only one besides Buffy who can stand a chance against Glory. It’s the same person-ism. It’s insanity.

Sometimes the BTVS narrative gets on its moral high horse and goes very much into the “humans only good monsters only bad” ideology and “no killing humans. Nobody is allowed to kill humans. Slayers cant kill humans” but then there’s Spiral…

Like this guy. I don’t personally think this guy’s gonna make it 🤣

Buffy definitely killed some people here and made it VERY clear she’d kill more in defense of Dawn. (Also it was mainly self defense.) And I support her. She’s so right for that. She gets to do some Killing. As a treat. She’s so entitled to it

Not me randomly getting emotional because this is never shown but they kicked Spike out of the driver’s seat and wouldn’t let him sit there with them (I suspect anyway because of the way Xander was being and because he gets up to sit after Xander moves) so rather than going to the other seat (the seat that Xander moves to) he chooses to sit on the floor by Dawn because he just wanted to sit by Dawn. Brb crying.
