Alright give me your s12 breakup headcanon for spuffy.

The writers already said they did it because they wanted Buffy to end up alone (ie parallel the cookie dough scene). The reason they gave in the comics was that when there was too much downtime/not a big evil to fight, spuffy "didn't work".

BTVS S12 Spoilers

As requested by anon and by @halfhumanhalfworld , I will share the thread regarding spoilers for s12 for you to read for yourself. A fellow fan was nice enough to share spoilers and details with fans. So great to have dedicated fans that will share info with us:

Please note I still don’t have my issue. I will share more thoughts once I get it at midnight. I’ll share a brief overview of spoilers and my thoughts after the jump.

SPIKE AND BUFFY BROKE UP!

It appears that off page and before the start of s12 Spike and Buffy break up. It appears to be a mutual break up and they are in a good place. 

And all is right with the world. I had mentioned this to a friend recently, and that was that I thought if the comics were going to stay true to the heart of the show a relationship between Buffy and any vampire (yes even the broody true love of Buffy’s life) is not sustainable if she is looking towards the future. All signs pointed to this season being about Buffy thinking about time, life, the future etc. Now I’m not saying this break up is permanent but if I had to guess, it is. If Buffy is thinking of what she sees in her future, it is hard to picture what that looks like with the limitations of an immortal boyfriend (see s3 and s7 finales as examples of Joss’ perspective on this). 

If the story ends with Buffy walking away on her own to face a bright future, I can live with that. That’s most of what I wanted anyway. 90% of it anyway. Ok maybe like - 85%.... 80% for sure.

Angel and Illyria are a couple. 

Apparently, Illyria announces that Angel and her are lovers? I need to read more about this, of course, to really share my feelings on it. At the outset, I hate hate hate hate it. Not just because I am an apologetic bangel shipper but because I have voiced my strong opposition to Angel and Illyria. It doesn’t even sound like Fred made an appearance, which is very annoying and confusing. I’ll share my thoughts after I read the issue.

The baby is Dawn and Xanders.

Basically everyone in the fandom knew this so this is the most boring of the spoilers. Oh and her name is Joyce. So there you go.
