i need advice

so basically i was best friends with this one girl for some time and we had a whole friend group and everything

and then after sometime i just started to find her annoying. and then two of our friends were in a relationship with each other and they broke up and then basically the whole group broke up so now i don’t talk to any of them anymore and i have new friends who i fit in with more than the old group.

now this girls mom just got my number from my mom so that she can plan a surprise birthday party for this girl on the 8th of september and i don’t want to go because it’ll be super duper awkward but my mom is forcing me to and i can’t exactly tell her what happened.

what do i do?( no pressure btw if you don’t have advice just consider this a rant lol)

ahh I can say I've experienced something similar

so I had these 2 best friends. but one left school. then she sometimes used to call us over. but after a while we stopped communicating.

so I feel you should do what you think is right (I can't really tell you what is right bc I'm not sure myself actually)

it's totally ok to not be friends with your old friends, and if they can't respect that they really weren't meant to be friends with you

just don't completely ignore her, as it is her birthday. you can just be polite about everything, and talk more with someone you actually like, so that way your mood won't be spoiled

so this one time I was a little kid and my family was at this prayer service I think?? and my dad was next to me, wearing this multicolour, multi-pattern shirt. so when it got over, I stoop up and saw that my dad is talking to someone, so I go pull at his shirt and I'm like, "papa papa" then he turns around and guess what? it's not my dad! someone way too young to be my dad!! and a person with hair!!! and so, mortified little me runs away and goes to my *actual* dad who was coincidentally looking my way
