i think one of the things that hit me most about bubble, apart from how well put together everything about that movie is, is hibiki. he's not just a prodigy because he's supernatural, or more importantly, because he's autistic. he's very good at what he does, and more than that, people rely on him to be good at it. they rely on him to be there when they take a false step, or to save them when they get in over their heads, whatever that means. they rely on him to do the right thing. and this is established very early on, even though they worry about how quiet and inward drawn he is. they know they can trust him. not because he's autistic or supernatural or because that's what they've always done, but because he has earned that faith. simply by being who he is. and on top of that, the only person that ever talks about hibiki's autism is ... hibiki. only when and how and to whom he wants. only ever on his terms. and that's okay. a whole crew of people still love and trust him, a girl risks everything to save his life even when she barely knows him. not just once but twice and especially after getting to know and love and see him. and she does it just because it's him. and i just think that's really neat.

I just finished watching Bubble and there were a million unanswered question that I feel like if explained I would've been left appreciating it more- that being said; Wit Studio straight up fucking FLEXED on that animation. God damn Superb. And the plot was really fucking sweet it pulled on my heart strings. Solid 9/10.

P.S, if you're a fan of Makoto Shinkai films I absolutely reccomend.
