Not sure if I’m going through more coffee or ink these days. I’ve had this mug since I was maybe 16. Bub Slug was an incredible local comic strip that ran full page color comics in the 80’s in the Edmonton Journal. Bub and his family are still around through the comic strip, “Betty”. It’s creators, Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen have had a massive influence and been a huge inspiration to me. I didn’t really know I could do this until they showed the way. My favourite run of Bub Slug is the run with Bub signing with the Oilers. They also had a strip called “Gramps” prior to Bub that is still one of my faves.
