yess like if they had the ability to create this arm, they’d have had the ability to get hold of the damned vibranium they needed. taking something known for being used for good, twisting it, isn’t that what hydra are best at?

(also re: the destroyer thing this is a pretty damned good read about that but it’s a v interesting theoryyy)

yes! and it would also make sense considering vibranium is extremely light, and having a metal arm made with a heavy metal/alloy would severely diminish his balance, movements and speed, which doesn't seem to be an issue at all for bucky. i can't think of any other metal that would have that strength and lightness in the marvel universe...

yee like technically adamantium might be able to hold up, but in the mcu it doesn’t exist because ~copyright~

i mean there would still be issues and negative effects of having a metal limb, but they’d be a lot easier to cope with and train around. less structural support would be needed as well because of his weight? like given the time it was installed it would have actually been the best option?

i too am behind the idea that buck's arm is vibranium, it would make sense that hydra would only use the best, and it's been shown that there is vibranium on the black market... and also in catws when bucky punches cap's shield they kind of seem to cancel each other out? and that would not happen with another metal or alloy?

yesss that’s why i was thinking vibranium, it holds up against the shield, which literally rips through metal walls and yet bucky’s arm isn’t torn to shreds?

plus he kinda ripped up part of a highway with it and uses it as a landing device so it makes sense to have something that minimised vibrations like vibranium does?

My first fandom…..

Well, ignoring the entirety of Disney while growing up (because childhood and Disney kinda go hand in hand), the first fandom that I was really… active… in? Would have to be a mixture of Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean.

It was the first time I understood that there are intense emotions affiliated with films and that actors can and do have multiple characters that they play. I was a wreck when I saw ROTK for the first time (and every time since) and Orlando Bloom kinda stuck with me since then.

Although come to think of it, I’ve always been into Star Wars and Indiana Jones thanks to my father. Which, despite a strained relationship with him, I’ve always thanked him for. That’s another story though. Ask me about it some time.
