“I don’t care.” Wish deadpanned.
“But Wish,” Sweet Tooth whined, stomping her hoof, “you can’t stay mad forever.”
“Watch me.”
“You’re being such a child! No one cares that he left!”
“I was humiliated. He hasn’t even bothered to say sorry.”
“You also haven’t tried to understand why he left.”
“Did you say he didn’t want to come to begin with?” Buck Tooth lisped. “Why do you think that was?”
Wish rolled over and glared. He made it sound like it was her fault for having Funny come to Family Day. The twins were looking at her expectantly. Wish groaned loudly and stretched out on her bed. She dropped her face into the comforter and sighed. Funny was supposed to be the adult, so why did she have to be the one to apologize? Shouldn’t he be the one to do the grown up thing?
Sweety patted Wish’s head, “It’ll be ok. I know you two will figure something out and meet halfway. That’s just who you two are. But me and Bucky need to get home for dinner. See you at school tomorrow?”
Wish waved her hoof without looking up. She listened to the sound of their steps as they left, the door clicking shut behind them.
