#bucky loves sam

I have a headcanon that bucky is really touchy ans cuddly with people he trusts 100% (sam) and absolutely avoids touch with those he doesn't trust 100% (the rest of the world)

So while u see bucky avoid touch like it's the black plague, when u see him with sam he becomes the most touch starved person (and I feel like he is, bc maybe before everything he did like to hug and to cuddle his family) he be following sam like a puppy just to get a hug, they have to kiss good night and good morning, kiss goodbye and hello, and all this demands by bucky.

And sam really really loves it. He loves bucky curling his huge body into sam when they are in the couch, loves when bucky demands a hug and when they hold hands. Best thing?? Bucky is the little spoon in bed and sam is living for it.

Dunno how I missed this parallel before.

Bucky falls...again. He's barely hanging onto a bar...again.

But this time Sam flies inlike an angel. Teases him about getting his ass whopped. Distracts him from his spiral. And saves him.

Instead of cold hard ice, this time Bucky lands in a field of flowers. Cushioned by Sam's body.

Maybe I cried a little. And maybe Bucky fell harder this time around, but in love with Sam.

bucky says "i hate you" everytime sam does anything, anything even remotely small. not because he actually hates him, no he could never, but because he's been in cyrostasis for so long, he can't form any coherent sentences to describe all the things sam makes him feel. and he hates all the things he makes him feel, so in turn he hates sam. but thank god sam takes it as a joke because they've come a long way since 2016 when they really did hate each other, cause bucky doesn't think he can manage it if sam ever actually thought bucky hated him. and he might just die a little inside if the feeling was ever mutual

different ways bucky refers to sam

bucky calls him "wilson" when they're on a mission but mostly when he's annoyed by him, "samuel" when he's angry at him, "sammy" when he's braggingly asking him to show the villain what sam can do (BUCKY: seems like our friend here is underestimating you sammy, would you mind showing him your tricks?) but the first time he's called him sammy was when sam almost drowned and he's giving him cpr whispering with helpless tears in his eyes "come on sammy, breathe. breathe for me sammy". but his most frequent name for sam wilson is "idiot". it's snappy and it's versatile, sam can be the stupid kind of idiot, the reckless kind of idiot and the adorable kind of idiot (SAM shooting at bad guys: so what are we having for dinner? BUCKY: what do i look like, your wife? SAM: so we're just picking up thai on the way home again? you're a god awful house wife buck. BUCKY rolling his eyes with a small smile on his face: you're an idiot.)
