A cute theory that I've had for some time is Blackquill's and Bucky Whet's family being family friends. Like, they met up on the ship heading from Japan to America, and immediately bonded from there. I'm already a huge "Ace Attorney's cast is mostly made up of Japanese Americans" truther in regards to the localized version, and Blackquill is a character who is very attached to his ancestry as we all know.
I know I've complained about the whole "nuclear family" dynamic that the fandom has with the main cast in the past, but I think this idea is actually plausible. We know that Blackquill and Bucky are old friends with each other so it's just a fun little idea that I like to play around with.

If Bucky Whet was real and I was in a gay relationship with him I would say “hello my boyfriend Bucky Whet i see you are hard at ork making buckwheat noodles” and he would say “yes i am making these buckwheat noodles” and i would say “you should buck your wheat noodle into me 😉” and he would say “i mean you can try them when the noodles are done babe but not right now” and i would say “no im saying you should, you jnow, buck your noodle into my wheat.” and he would say “yes but the noodles aren’t ready yet babe” and i woukd say “I AM TRYING TO MAKE A EUPHEMISN why are you being so dense. Anyone else to into the sequel trilogy hearing about one specific case and being incredibly excited because it sounds fun and fascinating. And also anticipating it the whole time because it's the fourth goddamn case. And you wait and wait and wait. And you get to it and it's a basic filler case that had no business being the fourth case in the game. It could've been the best introductory first case ever if it wasn't the fucking fourth, or had a lot of potential if they were to choose to make it a full case. Is this anyone else's experience with Turnabout Storyteller or is that just me.
turnabout storyteller is such an interesting case because due to how entrenched in japanese culture it is, it makes the localisation feel a lot more tenuous than usual and there’s a lot of things that add to this but one small thing I find funny is bucky’s age
like the whole joke of bucky’s character is that he’s extremely drunk the whole time and in the original japanese that’s fine, the drinking age is 20, but since the localisation is supposed to be taking place in the US, he is straight up underage drinking lmao. bro showed up to his own murder trial already committing a different crime
