This stunning hand carved Burmese wooden Buddha statue stands atop a double lotus base. His right hand is in the boon-granting gesture or gesture of generosity also known as varada mudra. His left hand is in protection gesture also known as abhaya mudra. Lord Buddha's robe is hand painted in a very rarely seen pattern, a beautiful masterpiece. This Buddha statue is modeled after an 11th-12th century Pagan or Bagan period piece located in the National Museum in Yangon.
