I got my hands on a CD by Isaac Lekach's first band when I was 11 or 12 years old. Their name was Buddy System Indeed. I sent them a letter and he sent me one in return along with their new CD. The letter informed me that the band was finished, but Isaac was going on a solo tour as "Poulain." A few years later, I caught him along with a full band in Woodstock, IL. I got to meet him, and it was a big deal for me because he was the person who first made me truly realize that anyone could write their own music, play in a band, and tour however they wanted. I have this guy to thank for making me want to do it myself.
