Two weeks ago, #Bombmom1 put out an inquiry about B&Bs in the Saugatuk area. My friend Beth runs a small sandwich/sundry/vintage shop in Saugatuk, so I sent her a text asking for a reputable B&B. Beth responded and I forwarded the recommendation to Bomb with one request. That request being that she and #Buffalobull visit my friend Beth and give her a hug for me.
Friday eve, I sent Bomb a dm wishing her a Happy Birthday and telling her not to forget 'Capt'n Wieners'-the name of my friend's shop. She responded that she and Bull were just chatting about Capt'ns.
In a weird way, I was sort of giddy about Bomb and Bull visiting my dearest friend Beth, who I have not seen in two years, but we are closer than many of my friends I see daily/weekly. I was also sort of giddy that Beth was possibly going to meet Bomb and Bull, who I have never met, but I have interacted with often.
Yesterday afternoon, I sent Beth a text asking if Bomb and Bull had visited. She said she had no clue. I told her she would know if they had been there because they were supposed to ask for 'Houseplant', a 20+ year old nickname for her that would be a clear indication that I had sent them. She said "Oh geesh SHAWN!', and that no one had asked for her by that name.
Two hours later, she sent a photo of Bomb and Bull looking cuddly and happy in her shop. Again, I was oddly giddy. Two people I have not met took the time to visit a dear friend of mine. I was touched.
I think this speaks wonders about the character of Bomb and Bull. We have interacted often thru Twitter and Tumblr, but never IRL. They took time out of Bomb's birthday celebration to visit Capt'ns as a courtesy to me.
Needless to say, Beth said they were VERY NICE... LOVELY COUPLE. Bomb and Bull said Elizabeth was awesome. I expected nothing less from either.
I would like to thank Bomb and Bull for allowing me to visit with Beth through them. I am truly touched that they smiled upon me for a while yesterday.
I look forward to the day I can meet them myself vs vicariously thru a friend. XOXO
