If Spike and Buffy got married, what would their last names be? I think Spike would want to be Mr. Buffy Summers.

AHH i’ve actually spent too much of my life thinking about this 😭 in my opinion they would never ever marry in the traditional sense (because they’re too queer and unconventional in the first place. but also, who would they truly want to display their love before? i’d imagine if they did, they’d have just willow, dawn and clem as witnesses or something. everybody else disrespected them or disavowed their connection so hard that i honestly don’t think they deserve to share in their intimacy like that. their love has always been for them alone) but i absolutely could see them having some sort of unconventional ring exchange and devoting themselves to eachother. again, something private and just for them.

‘spike summers’ has always been the loveliest pseudonym for him to me because he feels so much love, pride and loyalty towards not just buffy, but all of the summers women. and i really think it would be like the ultimate honour to him to be named after/alongside them. embraced by people he respects, given a family and sense of community that he never really had.

‘buffy pratt’ isn’t.. terrible, but i think that’s honestly just my love for spike speaking. i just don’t really think it does anything for buffy; i don’t think spike needs to embrace that old part of himself to the point that it needs to be demonstrated in every extension, and after all, william pratt is, unfortunately, long dead. buffy is marrying spike, all the parts of him, not just the sweet but timid man he used to be exclusively. she loves him for all parts of him, the whole point in their story is her embracing her darkness, her monster. anyway, i never believe in a female lead losing her reputable name for the sake of being noticeably attached to their male counterpart, and spike already plays the traditional part of the female role in their dynamic so well. also, ‘william pratt’ always felt like a cruel writing joke in the first place to me, akin to ‘william the bloody’ and ‘spike’ really originating in how he was bullied in life — prat is uk slang for fool, essentially </3.

so i think in still embracing the William parts of himself but accepting his evolved self as Spike, Spike Summers is the ultimate emblem of his evolution and devotion to his forever life as buffy’s lover, seated forever at the right hand of the slayer.

Halloween Headcanons - s/o being comforted by Buffy Summers

Request: Can you do hc's with Buffy and a reader who’s really nervous and scared on Halloween? Not a great premise so you can make it short :)

A/N: Buffy is caring for a s/o in this. Kind of a reader insert as the reader is kinda anxious/scared of Halloween. 

- You couldn’t help it. You were pretty scared of Halloween

- Anything could pop up

- And despite the supposed ‘demon’s night off’ rule, at least one of them decides to break it every year

- People jump out and make scary noises and the masks can be plain freaky

- And all of this happens on your doorstep!

- So, although every year you were optimistic that this year was the one where you were gonna forget all of the anxiety and just enjoy Halloween, it never quite went to plan.

- The last few years, however, you had felt that little bit safer

- You had started to date Buffy, who just happened to be a slayer

- You knew that she would never let anything happen to you. But it was hard to break decades of fear overnight

- You jumped every so often. At kids screaming, the occasional firework and the movie marathon you and buffy had been watching

- You weren’t usually too bad with the day-to-day slayings, but there was something about Halloween

- The one thing you can never accuse buffy of is not taking care of you

- The woman did everything in her power to make you feel safe and curb your anxieties

- She went to the door every time the doorbell went

- But she ensured you hadn’t jumped too violently, giving you hugs and pressing her lips to yours briefly before going to answer

- She made sure to tell everyone you knew not to contact her unless it was a real emergency

- Even unplugged the phone and turned off her cell

- Wants her night off to be with you, by your side

-  Will hold you so tight

- And you’ll get all of the good sweets from the mountain that is meant for the people that come to the door

- This year, she went to the door and none other than a demon had knocked on her door and had decided to crash the traditional movie night-in

- You ran and hid in the house, worrying about Buffy the entire time

- You heard her fight, and eventually win but you stayed in your hiding place

- Until she came to find you. She sat beside you, sliding an arm around you

- She whispered such soft things. Reassurances, funny quips about the demon in question to try to cheer you up – even the occasional pun.

- She often had a few puns in her head and picked from the one she liked best – but you got the joy of hearing all of them

-  She was really good to you

- When you calmed down you both moved from the hiding spot, her hand in yours

- And it would be in yours until you moved away

- You would return to your movies (side-stepping the demon that annoyingly didn’t turn to dust)

- She’ll pull you into her side and play with your hair, massage your scalp softly as your eyes both go back to the screen

12 Days of Christmas: Day three 

Characters: Fred; Buffy

Request: would you be willing to do hc's about buffy or fred with a jewish reader where they blend christmas and hanukkah traditions to celebrate?

A/N: I’m not Jewish so if any of this doesn’t sit quite right just message me it can be changed - Happy Hanukkah! ❄️🖤

Fred:

- Fred loves Christmas and gets very excited every year

- Being Jewish Fred started to realise you might not want to celebrate and started to stop gushing about it

- You noticed and eventually talked about it

- You loved seeing how excited she got over Christmas

- So you insisted it wasn’t like you were allergic

- And suggested you could combine both in your festivities this year

- When I tell you she bounced off the walls in excitement

- You pack in as many activities as you can

- She gets very excited about lighting the Menorah each evening

- Much more so than you

- Almost knocks it over in her excitement

- Her arms are all over the place

- Often asks if it’s time to light it

- You decorate the tree together and she seems to have bought out the whole shop

- You have baubles coming out of your ears

- Well, she does

- She bought some festive earrings in a bauble shape

Buffy:

- It was Buffy’s idea for you to celebrate a sort of hybrid Hanukkah/Christmas

- She’s always loved learning about your tradition

- Obviously she already knew about Hanukkah but she was really stoked to celebrate with you

- Also she wouldn’t let go of her Christmas celebrations so wanted to integrate them

- She loves Christmas a whole bunch

- When she was a kid it was the best time of year

- So always wants to share this with her s/o

- She makes the best hot chocolate

- You watched some carol singers and joined in on some of the ones you knew

- You decorated the tree and Joyce invited you over for Christmas dinner

- you spent a lot of time at the Summer’s residence 

- you and Buffy did lots of baking, mostly gingerbread

- Dawn became really interested and kept asking you a lot of questions about Hanukkah

- Buffy kept giving her death glares

- Instead of gold coins you bought a bunch of chocolate coins

- You explained about gelt but ultimately shared the goods together

- Dawn came skidding into the room upon hearing there were chocolates on offer

- “Yummy!” She shouted over her shoulder as she ran off with the remainder of the loot

- If you knew all it took to keep her quiet was a bag of chocolate coins you would have put her onto the tradition earlier

Buffy and romance:

she likes to feel secure, likes being told your feelings

Doesn’t like putting her heart out there first after everything that’s gone in her past

Will need constant reassurance but will act like she doesn’t

Big on physical affection

wants to be loved, will be really excited if you tell her you love her first

will go straight to her friends to tell them exactly the tone of voice and the way you said it

she likes confidence, but if someone isn’t confident she’s happy to be confident enough for the both of you

she’s very thoughtful, but probably won’t be one for big gestures

maybe just small things, like oh I saw this and thought of you

or this gravestone when I went patrolling said something that made me wish you were there

will probably want to call you on the phone all of the time 

like you’ll fall asleep at night during long phone calls (she’d love modern day, minutes are better than racking up the phone bill)

Angel and romance:

he’ll keep distance at first with the cautious debate he has to do over potentially ruining the relationship he values with you

when you are together he will treasure you

Likes the traditional romance

Wants to be confident with it but it may come off a little arrogant sometimes

It’s just cos he’s not great at expressing himself

I feel he’s a very physical person (to make up for his sometimes lack of vocal affirmation - although he will tell you he loves you)

Won’t be big into pda (doesn’t mean he won’t if s/o is though)

there will be plenty of hugs and he’ll let you hold his hand or hang on his arm if that’s what you like

Hobbies:

apart from the obvious (training and shopping), she has a few other hobbies

She likes to collect things

Sometimes of sentimental value, sometimes not

Like Dawn and her trinkets but she wouldn’t steal, they’d be hers (old ticket stubs, etc)

She’ll have a little memento box she will keep them in (it will have started in Sunnydale, with her Scooby friends)

Also i feel like she would have done dancing class or something similar when she was younger, Joyce taking her to lessons etc

maybe she would like to pursue that again once she isn’t the only one that could save the world anymore

Sad:

when buffy‘s sad you know about it

She has a very expressive face

If it’s not the pouty lip and the puffy eyes, there’ll be a difference in the way she holds herself

even if she’s trying to stay strong, you can tell

A sparkle that’s usually behind her eyes that’s not there

If it’s over a guy or something that isnt end-of-the-world-related a tub of ice cream and spending time with her should help

it won’t make it all better, but knowing someone’s there will help

Other times things are too much and she’ll just need someone to sit with her while she tries to gather her thoughts

she’ll need a shoulder to cry on, but she won’t like to admit it
