It’s been such a long emotional week in fandom for me.

First, the Nygmobblepot fandom lost a phenomenal, generous, and brilliant artist to anon hate and anti-crap. Which infuriates me cause there doesn’t seem to be a way to prevent it. When fandoms get so large, you will have differences of opinion, which is fine. You be you.

But personal attacks and anon/known hate are not! Having 200-300 people block a few ***holes doesn’t seem like an effective strategy for creating a fandom safe place. It’s just so frustrating. LJ had its issues, but even un-moderated communities were amazing refuges from the torrent of bile people could spew on their personal blogs. While they weren’t always perfect, community blogs did their best to shield their members from personal attacks and I miss that.

Then Buffy’s 20th brings up so many amazing memories. Can’t believe I was an active member of that fandom for over 10 years, pre-LJ even. An actual literal decade! I made so many lifelong friends and even connected with a guy, who would eventually become my husband, over the show. It changed my life and shaped who I am as a person.

And TVD is finally over. Didn’t know I could love and hate a show at the exact same time.

Finally, I didn’t get tickets to San Diego Comic Con and the added salt in the wound is they let me into a registration room but there were no tickets left to select. Argh!

I’m just so ready for this hiatus to be OVER! Gotham is 6 weeks away!

6 WEEKS! 7 MORE MONDAYS! WE ARE SO CLOSE! SO CLOSE!

I am so thrilled that Nygmobblepot Week starts tomorrow cause I need it so bad right now! I wish I could have done something for it myself, but I’m so busy right now, I just couldn’t.

But I plan to read and watch and coo over everything I can get my hands on. All the Nygmobblepot fanwork creators deserve to know how much I love and appreciate everything they do to bring our ship to life and put a much needed smile on my face. THANK YOU!
