"Go and ask him already," Asmo grumbled. "You're putting me on edge with this stupid game."
You sighed and turned away from Levi, who was very pointedly not looking in your direction since you last caught him glancing at you. "I can't."
"I didn't go clothes shopping with you for six hours--"
"Eight."
"--eight hours to dress you up to be a wallflower."
"But what if he says no? You know how he gets when confronted with situations like--"
"What makes you think he'll actually tell you no? He's smitten with you. Now go."
You resigned yourself to what you knew you would have been pushed to do at some point of the night and walked around the mass of demons until you stood in front of Levi. His shoulders were hunched and he already sported a high blush on his cheeks. You were close enough that it would be rude if he didn't pay attention to you, so he finally met your gaze once more.
"H-hey."
"Dance with me?"
You were blunt because you knew you would chicken out if you didn't start with the proposition. His face grew redder and he sputtered out sounds that seemed to resemble words. It was as impossibly endearing as it was frustrating. But you were patient as he worked through his emotions enough to wildly nod at you.
Taking his hand, cool and clammy, you led him to the dance floor and didn't bother to hide your beaming grin.
