Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time to get over Entomophobia! Yes Sir, it is time to befriend the creepy crawlies you’ve been petrified of all your life because this fun trend is here this Summer.
THE BUG PRINT TREND GLOBALLY:
Last year at SS 2014, an Indie designer Azede Jean Pierre caught the attention of Fashion Lovers with her bug prints presentation. Only two years into her first presentation, this NY based designer presented a technicolor ode to mother nature with its fair share of creepy crawlie looks.
Another designer who did his sweet take on the birds and the bees was Matthew Williamson SS 2014. Despite introducing only one print he presented three different looks.
THE BUG PRINT TREND LOCALLY:
Two Designer Bugs caught my eye this time at PSFW 2014. Both projecting their own unique take on this trend. Nida Azwer, Mixed her Bug prints with her remaining ‘very Safari inspired’ collection in her usual muted way. The palatte which comprised mostly of pales and pinks had a range of Eastern and Western looks including Sarees etc.
Zara Shahjahan on the other hand seemed like a woman on a mission with her colourful bugs mixed and matched with her brightly coloured collection.
