My favorite thing about Beedrill is that, despite being territorial as hell, despite not liking to interact with pokemon outside of their line, despite being related to Combee, who will immediately banish a combee if it decides to befriend / mate with a pokemon outside of their hive, Beedrill are so close to those in their hives that, if a Beedrill ends up befriending / becoming mates with a pokemon of a different species, instead of banishing them like Combee / Vespiquen would, the entire hive just goes, "Well damn. They trust them. That must mean they're good :/" and they'll just... let the other pokemon live with them.
There was a story on the news a couple years back about a Beedrill Hive in Johto that ended up having a male Ledian and their ledyba-crossed weedle children live in the hive with them because one of their soldiers decided to become attached to him, lol. It was quite sweet (except for the fact that the hive made him his own needles by gathering a bunch of thorns and using Weedle silk to keep them together. That part was scary. AMAZING for ecology studies and how Beedrill work together to care for their hive members, but not for a poor unprepared 10 year old seeing a Ledian come flying at them with thorn needles).
Look at him go!! (We might need a napkin)

We take a small break from your daily Oc and character posts to present…. Wait, another Pokémon???
Yes! It’s Excavalier! As someone who grew up on Gen 4, I was admittedly quite stubborn on wanting to like Gen 5 when it came out. But I still remember being blown away by the Unova Pokémon designs as a kid, especially the bug types! But I remember exclusively drawing Excavalier and Accelgor in my notebooks in school, even gifting a drawing of them to my teacher lol. I still remember being upset not being able to have both Pokémon in my game cause I didn’t have another DS or both titles to trade/evolve them! Haha. It was a little hard ‘breaking’ the personality of Excavalier due to the many moving parts in its design, but at the end I focused more on the rendering to test the waters of painting metal again.
Btw, I’m super happy a lot of people really loved Natu and Xatu’s drawings! It tickles me that an obscure Pokémon suddenly gained interest! I couldn’t be happier my drawings somehow moved people this way, even if I drew them for the silly fun of it lol. Thanks for enjoying my work! Drawing these really obscure Pokémon I liked, even as a kid, almost feels like I’m visiting an old friend again. I don’t know why they stuck with me a a kid, but perhaps it’s true that every Pokémon can be someone’s favourite!
(Oh hey! I also do comissions on Pokémon as well! You can check out the link in my bio for my commissions website where you can request a commission via Google Forms or KoFi order! I do not accept commission requests via DM’s, posts or asks due to a high rise of scams around Tumblr. The forms and Ko Fi just makes it more official and safer for us!)
I introduce my idea of what snom would look like as a little kid
heya!!
i’m ryan (she/they/he), a bug type fanatic and researcher from fula city, unova. I’ve been all around the globe studying different types of bug type pokemon and generally living the dream :D

Moss the Shellos - Rescued during my university travels in Sinnoh. Very shy and clingy as a result, but a real sweetie.
Jellybean the Joltik - Another bug found on a university research trip- or rather, he found me. clung onto my leg for dear life and we haven’t been separated since. Loves to play.
Lumi the Snom - Another rescue, no clue where she came from. No thoughts, head empty. Likes pecha berries.
Weeble the Wurmple - Newest edition to the family. Very moody, throws fits if I try to feed him anything besides rindo berries. Was supposed to be released but unfortunately I’m Attached.
