Dancing pupa!

Doing yardwork and I found this lil cocoon 🤩 placed it safely under a bunch of leaves away from where I was working after I took this short video!

Small gentle stingless bee vs big clumsy honey bee

[Video ID: A shaky video of some bees on a bunch of small blue flowers with long stamens. The first bee is a small black stingless bee that is able to fit its whole body into a flower. The next bee that flies in is a comparatively much larger yellow honey bee, who is only able to fit its head inside the flowers. It climbs hastily and clumsily through the flower stamens near the stingless bee, scaring it out of its flower, and then starts flying again with a buzz. End ID]

Saw this adorable little Powder Blue Isopod (Porcellionides pruinosus) while taking Zeus out for a walk this morning 🌄

Porcellionides pruinosus is a cosmopolitan woodlouse that is native to Europe, and is suspected to consist of very closely related species. Ten subspecies are recognised. The species carries Wolbachia endosymbionts, which is an alpha-proteobacterium that is known to modify the reproduction of their crustacean hosts by inducing cytoplasmic incompatibility or feminisation.
