hank green made a video called "how do you create when you don't feel safe" and ultimately the video was about smth else but it did get me thinking about how fucking unfair it feels to grow up in a deeply unsafe environment. i've known from a very very early age that i love creating and i have barely anything to show for it bc i spent a lot of my time hiding from my parents and the rest of the time hiding from my own fear. your own lack of safety overrules your personality, it cages you in, forbids you from doing the things that would let you unfurl and live as yourself. and that's just. fucking unfair
