Jughead rested his head back against the tree trunk. Betty laid beside him on the blanket. He'd gotten lost in his own thoughts again, unaware that she had nodded off. He smiled to himself and leaned forward to brush a stray piece of hair behind her ear. Betty stirred at his touch. Squinting as she opened her eyes to avoid the sunlight. "Hey Juggie." She whispered, trying to get up but he pushed her back down. "Shhhh, go back to sleep." He planted a kiss to her forehead and rubbed her cheek soothingly, lulling her back to sleep, even though it had been her idea for a fun day near the river. She was so beautiful when she slept. He was the luckiest guy in the world.
