Written for @1000roughdrafts’ Title Prompt Challenge.
I’ve never written reader insert or 2nd person PoV before, and as soon as I started this, it put me in mind of interactive fiction and those Choose Your Own Adventure books I used to love as a kid.
This is not kid friendly. :p But hopefully it is entertaining. I’ve written a Choose Your Own Sexventure: Interactive Smut.
(Tumblr was only mildly cooperative. I’m pretty sure I’ve figure out how to finish it without being obnoxious with the posts. Sorry about the messy dash before, gang.)
Crowley/Reader
Summary: When you first volunteered to give Crowley a syringe of your blood, you were only thinking that it was probably in humanity’s best interest for the King of Hell to be under the influence of a little...well, humanity. Your secret arrangement didn’t remain innocent for long, however, and though you’ve attempted to cut him off, you’re still the high that Crowley chases.
And you’d be lying if you said the addiction wasn’t mutual.
Word Count: I don’t even fucking know. Too many for the story to be as facking short as it is.
Warnings (Not all of these apply to all paths): Substance abuse/addiction, mild Daddy!kink, Dom/sub, light bondage, bloodplay, dubious consent.
**Just a heads up: This was basically an experiment. It is unbeta’d. Interactive fiction is a much larger undertaking than I’d anticipated when I started it. :p
***This has been a learning experience. After consideration, I’ve decided to break this into two parts. It’s getting complicated and I’m weary of wrangling links. Also, I want to put more thought into how I finish off each possible path. So, I’ve decided to post just enough to frustrate you. (J/K :p) Will be working on the endings in a (hopefully) more organized way and expect to have them available sooner rather than later.
Addicted to You
“What have we here?”
Crowley seems to delight in the startled look on your face when you turn toward the sound of his voice. You don’t know how to respond, don’t know how to react to his unexpected appearance, and so he answers the question himself.
“You, left behind at the motel, cooped up all by your lonesome while the boys are out working a case? Hardly seems fair,” he says, the very picture of sympathy. “Fortuitous for me, though,” he adds with a twitch of his eyebrow.
Crowley looks out of place, standing against the backdrop of a dingy motel room partition. The motif this time is cowboy boots and horseshoes, fitting for Dean but incongruent to the demon king’s well tailored designer suit.
“You shouldn’t be here,” you warn, rising from the chair at the desk where you’ve been researching lore.
Crowley doesn’t answer straight away. He cocks a smirk and slips his hands into his pockets, seeming to agree with your statement as he casts a critical glance at the threadbear, gold velour bedspread in front of him with its subtle and mysterious stains. But then his eyes snap to you, and his gaze is still narrow but altogether more approving.
“Couldn’t help myself,” he professes. “That is the nature of addiction.”
“And you just assumed you could show up unannounced and help yourself, is that it?” you ask, inching closer to the bed far farthest from him, ostensibly to put the one nearest to him between the two of you and hinder his advance.
“Of course I expect at least a token show of resistance. I’d be disappointed, really, if you made it too easy. But face it, darling,” he says with a wink and a slow smile. “You and I both know you won’t hold out for long.”
You scoff at his smug prediction but feel a thrill race the length of your spine. The bastard thinks he’s charming, and as usual, he’s right–on all counts–but that doesn’t make his confidence in your surrender any less galling.
“I’m not the only human in the world, Crowley,” you argue, trying to keep your tone conversational despite the way your heart is tripping in your chest. You take a casual seat atop your disheveled blankets. Beneath your pillow is an angel blade and a pair of supernatural handcuffs. You don’t imagine either will be particularly effective in this situation, but you feel better having them within grabbing distance. You can tell by the look in his eye that Crowley at least suspects what you’re doing and why, but he doesn’t comment.
Crowley strolls closer, and every step of his approach makes you more lightheaded. He expects a show of reticence from you; and you, in turn, expect him to tease the moment of its necessity until you are half mad with anticipation.
“I have found, through extensive personal research, that not all humanity is created equal,” he explains, slipping off his suit jacket and draping it neatly across the back of the chair you’ve just vacated. “And you, my dear, are my favorite flavor by far. Why would I settle for generic when I can have the real thing?”
As Crowley rolls back his sleeves in readiness, his eyes fall to your chest. The room is stuffy, and with the boys out and about, you’d unfastened a couple of extra buttons while you were digging through the requested research. You can feel Crowley’s gaze like the brush of fingertips across the swell of your partially exposed breasts, and you lift a hand to tug your shirt to a close with a blush.
He seems amused by your sudden modesty. “Why so shy, my pet? Nothing I haven’t seen before.”
“I am not your pet, Crowley,” you object, convincing no one, least of all yourself. You hate how much you enjoy hearing the address, how it triggers memories of encounters past that make your cheeks burn even hotter than they were already. “I told you the last time that it was the last time.”
Crowley tuts at you and shuffles closer, coming to a strategic stop exactly between the room’s two beds and so cutting off any possible escape. Not that you’d have been likely to manage it, regardless, but you know the way he stands there, feet planted wide, is more about effect than logistics.
You’re torn. Your instinct is to rise to your feet, but that would take you even further away from the weapons stowed beneath your pillow.

Optional Dialogue Prompts
“Come on, lets get a room.” “What? It’s the middle of the day.” “I wasn’t talking about sleeping.”
“What do we do now?”
“Where did all this blood come from?”
“Why do you think she was so protective of you, Y/N? She didn’t want you to suffer the same fate.”
“But that’s against the rules. I thought you were one to follow those.”
“They taught me to fear the dark. They forgot to tell me what happens in the light.”
“There used to be five of us and now.... now I’m all alone.”
“I didn’t know what to do. I just knew it needed to stop. Grave after grave I got tired of burying my friends.”
“Are you with me because you love me? Or because you’re scared of being alone?”
“Don’t you dare chalk this up to ‘hormones’. I go through this daily! 100% of the time and it just so happens that the only time I’m not strong enough to carry the weight is when I’m on my period. So don’t go there with that crap!”
“You keep talking to me like that and I’ll make you swallow your tongue.”
“Learning how to trust someone is the hardest thing I’d ever have to do, but you... you’ve made it so easy.”
“I really wanted to call you, but...I knew it would end with my heart being broken. So thank you for proving to me that I was right.”
“I love you.” “What? What did you just say?” “I love you, Y/N.” “That’s the first time you’ve said that to me.” “I know.”
