It’s Only Fitting... . that in front of this cool old New Orleans mural would be sitting a classic Detroit-made Deuce-and-a-Quarter. Even more classic that it has a growing pile of parking tickets under the wiper. A Buick Electra 225, for those who didn’t know, and looking mighty clean. . Swipe for more. . You’ll also see, as I leave N’Awlins and if you’ve been following my stories, my last food recommendation. I couldn’t decide between Crabby Jack’s in the warehouse dist of Jefferson, who serves up the best fried chicken, giant Po’Boys and Cajun grub in a place covered wall to wall with Dr Bob’s bottle cap art, or a good ol’ Muffaletta from the Butcher at Cochon, one of the areas most highly regarded restaurants. . I went for the Muffaletta, as I hadn’t really been down to the Quarter yet. . Oh! The Bacon Praline. Holy Jesus, Mary & Joseph those things are good. Pralines are famous in New Orleans, but Christ, let the Butcher make them with bacon and they are truly heavenly. I’m tempted to turn around and go back for more, they’re that slippery good. . Going down there was fun. As eclectic and odd as the French Quarter can be, driving my funky trailer with canoe & tent through town managed to raise a few eyebrows. More than one person cranked their head around like “Whaat, I think that dude lost!” . If you’ve never had a Muffaletta, ya gotta try it. Get one from the Butcher or Central Grocery. They’re good af. . Crabby Jacks next time. Jalapeño Mac-n-Cheese and the best Po’Boys n Cajun ever. . Hadn’t really planned on stopping in New Orleans as I’ve explored here before, but decided to revisit the battlefield where the Battle of New Orleans was fought, then I found myself going back to fav food joints. .
