Museum & Old Town’s Hub
This building funded by the old town’s patron, Lady Plubelle, today functions as* a museum & a hub for small local businesses.
You can find more screenshots under the #bahinterior tag on my blog. I can’t add more than 10 of them in one post, unluckily, so I have to split them.
Another lot for @build-a-hood project. Lot no 22. Lot is 100% CC-free, size 4x3 (and checked in Clean Installer). However, I still recommend using Clean Installer anyway.
I briefly tested this lot, so most of things should work properly, but in case something is malfunctioning, please, let me know!
Contains: art museum with a music performance room, a cafe, an arcade, a boutique & grocery store.
Built with cheats (quertertile, snapobjects, moveobjects and constrainfloorelevation), so be cautious if you want to edit anything.
*I made a typo in in-game lot description and forgot to fix this, sorry.
a community lot for the @build-a-hood project! This is a 3x1 community lot that is a gas station on the edge of town. it features basic bathrooms and a small convenience store where many of the sims living outside of town can buy their groceries. it also features a small bus stop near the bathrooms. This lot is CC-FREE but probably requires all expansion packs.
The package is clean, but feel free to use the Clean Installer just in case :)
Feel free to let me know if you have any issues or comments!~

city layout ideas
1) the main hood:
the suburbs: think Pleasantview. lots of single family, white picket fenced suburban homes.
oldtown: the historical center of the city, where big government buildings such as the town hall and the public library are located. surrounded by historical homes and shops (possibly Victorian style? or any as long as it feels "old" and cohesive). we’re planning on having a little “magic strip” here with occult shops and a magic school.
2) downtown:
industrial district: grungy. abandoned (or not) warehouses and factories, run down apartments, shady businesses, seedy, hole in the wall kinda bars. perhaps by the water, for shipping docks and such?.
boho district: like the industrial district but on the process of getting gentrified. lots of coffee shops, vegan stores, used bookstores. we’re also thinking of having a little “Asian strip” here, or (ts2) Asian inspired.
commercial: fancy stores, penthouses, tall office buildings, large plazas. think 5th ave.
tech district: clean industries, labs. we could possibly come up with something cute for servos over here? like the magic strip for witches.
the nightlife: lots of clubs and trendy bars and restaurants, lots of lights and modern architecture.
3) the tourist trap:
shopping district: by the beach, ts4's Del Sol Valley inspired. lots of shops and owned businesses, maybe even a “walk of fame” lot.
beach living: lots of beach houses, fancy condos, more humble looking homes. not full on tropical but happy and sunny. maybe a fake gated community for celebrity homes. a touch of ts3′s roaring heights / starlight shores.
4) the lake:
coastal living: ts4's Brindleton Bay inspired. think New England, lots of beach lots as well but less sunny than the previous subhood. more lake-y than beach-y, if that makes any sense.
farming district: a little ways away from the city. rural, farmhouses, barns, big sprawling fields etc.
mountain district: perhaps just a tiny little district out of town and into the woods. maybe superfluous if we're planning on doing vacation hoods later on.
notes:
- everything here is subject to change. all suggestions are welcome, feel free to edit and add to this to your hearts’ content.
- i tried to have subhood themes that could kinda look like they’re a part of the same city, so things like a desert hood would fit better for a vacation/uni hood later on.
- same goes for themes that would look too “foreign” next to the others, such as a Monte vista or Windenburg inspired hood.
- 1 main hood, 1 downtown and 2 subhoods might be a little too much. should we cut any of those? if so, which?
- what about the districts within each city, any ideas we should incorporate or get rid of?
- reminder that these are flexible and mostly for building inspiration and organization, we don’t need to follow these to the t.
all of that being said: terrain makers, we need your help! <3
Meet the Fickle family for the @build-a-hood project. Dad Frank & mom Diane are artists & free-spirits. There’s always music blasting through the house & everything is always covered in paint. Their garden is also a mess, since it is covered with junk Diane can use for her sculptures. Their less than pristine abode is a constant thorn in the eye of the neighborhood's most prestigious family, the Cockburn’s. They’ve been enemies every since a gnome incident that nobody in the neighborhood dares mention. No matter how uptight, conservative & snobby the Cockburn’s are, June Fickle has long discovered that their daughter isn’t any of those things. But loving the enemy’s daughter, how’s that ever going to end well?

NO CC LOT
I’ve created a lot for @build-a-hood project! This is a community lot #32. I’ve decided to create a cute restaurant with spacious and luxurious interior, but using only Maxis objects was a true challenge on its own. I was a bit worried that I might lack needed CC for it to look good but it turned out better than I was expected, especially in comparison to a lot of maxis pre-build restaurants/dinners. The project was an interesting take into seeing how much can be done by in-game objects and lots of creativity (and headaches ofc), but here it is at its final form. I will attach more pictures of it below so you would have a glimpse of the whole thing. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it. OHH and the lot comes with a description to give it a more lifeful look and history.
I’m baaack! At least to drop off two lots I’ve built for the wonderful build a hood project!
I claimed the lot on the top right of the map, which is number 49! (Not the trailer park but a smaller residential lot)
I divided the 3x1 lot up to build two semi-detached houses on a 1x1 and a 2x1 lot.
Both lots are completely cc-free but come fully furnished.
I used the lot adjuster to make them compatible the way they are :)
If you encounter any problems, please tell me and I will try to fix them!

The City Hall
The chief administrative building of the town and headquarters of town's mayor.
Another lot for @build-a-hood project. Lot no 23 was reserved for town’s hall. Lot is 100% CC-free, size 3x3 (and checked in Clean Installer). However, I still recommend using Clean Installer anyway.
Contains a room for council meetings, mayor’s office and an office for all town’s administrative needs.
Built with cheats (quertertile, snapobjects, moveobjects and constrainfloorelevation), so be cautious if you want to edit anything.
