Little something for @chubbybitts to celebrate today—hope your birthday’s a good one (and even better with some bulkbeeprowl action)
There was nothing better than coming back to his quarters and finding a plump bot waiting to be pampered and sat all cozy in his berth… unless, of course, there were two plump bots snuggled close together while they waited for Bulkhead to return. Lucky mech he was, because two plump bots with rounded bellies and happy, healthy sparklings tucked deep inside was exactly the kind of thing he came back to.
Even through the ups and the downs of becoming the first pair of Cybertronians to carry new life into the world after millions of years without, Bulkhead couldn’t be happier. There was no amount of stress or concerns that swayed him from his excitement, and every little challenge they faced made him more and more eager for the next few steps of their lives together with the sweet addition of little ones added to the mix. He had lived through war and come out on the other end happier than ever, and after all of the hardships they had faced together as a team, this was something Bulkhead was going to savor.
His enjoyment didn’t make the carrying process any less difficult on the three of them, but any and every difficulty that arose, Bulkhead took care of. He kept energon stored for both mechs and left his schedule more flexible than ever, and he had managed to convince Ratchet of all mechs to get closely involved in the process, which included fusing three rooms into one with a berth big enough to fit the entire team, just to be on the safe side.
Where others would say he was going overboard, Bulkhead believed he was doing just enough, and really, he couldn’t help himself. This had been his dream from the start, just like it had been his partners’ dream, and finally, after so much time, it was starting to come true.
Bulkhead’s return to their quarters after a quick reconnaissance mission was met with noisy groans from their bed-bound speedster and a small, tired smile-and-nod from the much more silent of his two carrying conjuxes.
Bumblebee’s frame had taken on more than its fair share of weight from the start of the pregnancy until now, and though he and Prowl were similar in their sizes of baby bellies, the minibot could hardly bear to stand for more than a few moments any longer. He was on bedrest for the whole term, which had seemed bad in the beginning… until, of course, the effects of carrying set in. All Bulkhead had to worry about now were the constant cravings for rare metals and strange human food pairings, which weirded him out at best and concerned him at worst. He was lucky, at least, to finally have a low-energy scout on his servos—it made pampering the two of them at once a hell of a lot easier.
Prowl, similarly, had dealt with his fair share of struggles through the pregnancy. His slim build remained for the most part, but that ever-growing belly sticking out from his front was becoming more and more prominent by the day and heavier and heavier by the hour. He, too, had opted for monitored bedrest under the impression that he could jump right back into the swing of things once the sparklings had arrived. That, of course, was laughable… but Bulkhead kept it to himself for now.
It was all coming together according to Bulkhead’s grand plan, most of which involved waiting on them hand and foot and caring for their every needs. He wanted this more than anything, and he had finally gotten it. He was going treasure every last moment, too, from the start of their carrying to the last second, and even then, he was going to enjoy every last milestone they hit. But for now…
“I’m back,” he said, his optics bright and his smile wide as he carried his weight in cubes and snacks. “Hope you two didn’t miss me too much. Who’s hungry?”
They all were, judging by the needy looks and servos rubbing at swollen bellies. Despite his tired optics and frequent yawns, Bumblebee immediately dove into a long-winded stream of gratitude and updates that covered the entire twenty minutes or less they had spent together during Bulkhead’s absence.
“—the sparklings kicked! Twice!” he said, his arms thrown in the air as he held up two fingers on each servo. “I tried to tell Prowl, but he—“
“Was trying to catch up on my sleep,” Prowl said with a tired sigh and a servo rubbing at his face. The excitement was contagious, and he smiled despite his annoyance. “They seem to get active between refueling… maybe tomorrow we can try to catch them while you’re still here, Bulkhead.”
Bulkhead, who had been listening actively up until he heard the words “sparklings” and “kicked,” paused in sorting through the cubes and containers of human foods to glance up and beam at Prowl.
“Oh, you bet,” he said, “I’d love to feel the little ones kicking. But if it takes making you two wait for your fuel…”
“Not for very long,” Prowl cut in. “Believe me, it would be worth it.”
He pushed a few cubes across the berth and into arm’s reach and watched with quiet amusement as his two conjuxes strained to reach over their big bellies and snatch up the full containers. Their sounds of struggle quickly turned into sighs of contentment—all from Bumblebee, of course, who continued to talk through the day’s events while sipping at his fuel—and once he was certain everyone had their rations gathered up, Bulkhead began making his way into the berth, too.
There was no other way to handle two chubby mechs with their pregnant bellies and a big, fat mech like Bulkhead other than fusing several slabs together into one. Luckily for them, Ratchet had been nothing more than grumbles and poorly suppressed excitement at the opportunity to create something better for the new life they were bringing into the world. The berth was big—big enough for Bulkhead to lounge in the middle with one fat bot and their big, round bellies to sit on either side of him, and big enough for the three mechs to cuddle up together after their fuel had been finished off.
Bulkhead made quick work of putting a servo to the bellies, and after only a moment of silence spent wiggling closer and snuggling up to his own big, cushy middle, the two carrying bots melted in similar sounds of satisfaction and sighs. Their bellies were warm beneath his palms, and the faint wriggle of life beneath the mesh and plating was ever present. He couldn’t quite feel the sparklings moving, but he could sense their presence.
It was nearly enough to make a grown mech bawl, but Bulkhead had done plenty of that in the beginning. Now, he was just content to sit there and soak it all in. Prowl and Bumblebee were, too, and they both enjoyed his presence and his pampering until the very last second.
Bulkhead was more than pleased. His work was finished for the day, which meant he could now sit back, relax, and watch his conjuxes slip into well-deserved slumber under his touch. On his left, Bumblebee squirmed and sighed, staring up at him through dull yet happy optics. On his right, Prowl had already fallen still, and his chest rose and fell in sync with the crest of his belly rising and falling with every soft breath.
“I love you guys,” he said, his smile spreading across his face as he gently hooked his arms under them and drew them close, cradling them against his frame. “And I love you, littler guys.”
It was slight, almost unnoticeable, but as Bulkhead’s servos curled around their sides and brushed against the curve of their bellies, he could feel something beneath the surface pushing back ever so slightly. He didn’t notice at first, but then it happened a second time, and a third.
They were kicking, he excitedly thought. The sparklings were kicking!
He lifted his helm to tell his two conjuxes and to share the good news, but once he caught sight of those sleeping faces, Bulkhead paused. He slowly fell back instead, content to simply enjoy the moment for what it was, and adjusted his grip so that he could both hold them close and feel the telltale sign of little ones kicking beneath their plating.
It was the sweetest experience yet, and all Bulkhead could think about was how it would only get better from there. He was happy, so happy, to finally get what he wanted… and here he sat, cuddled up with double his greatest wish, feeling the very presence of his hopes kicking at his fingers from inside his conjuxes’ bellies.
He couldn’t have ever been happier than he was in that moment. All was right in his world, and with that as his final waking thought, Bulkhead drifted off into sleep right alongside them.
if you still want some beeprowl/bulkbee/prowlbulk prompts;
The happy couple about to get conjunxed takes a passing interest in human wedding traditions. A teenage Sari immediately starts lobbying for a human-style wedding with great, starry eyed enthusiasm.
A slightly mature comedy involving poor bulkhead trying to get his stubborn, embarrassed partner to go see ratchet in the morning for.. *ahem* an injury.
They don’t need to breathe air, what about an underwater date?
Anyone can feel free to use these prompts btw!
Good ahit
I like beeprowlbulk in this particular order not because of relationship dynamics but because they are do re mi. small medium large :3
Bulkbeeprowl polycule that gets mistaken for a love triangle cuz prowl is just dramatic© like that
ACTUALLY A BIG FAN OF THIS. bee and bulk adding him to the polycule but none of the 2 were prepared for his prolonged silences for no reason other than 'he's just kinda like that' which they get used to kinda quickly LOL.
