White House bulldozes Rose Garden to start Trump's plans to pave over it

Renovation work continues in the Rose Garden at the White House on June 18, 2025 in Washington, D.C. President Donald Trump plans to have the historic landmark paved over.

The Rose Garden was created by First Lady Ellen Wilson, the first wife of President Woodrow Wilson in 1913, replacing the colonial garden created by President Theodore Roosevelt’s wife, First Lady Edith Roosevelt.

Famously, First Lady Jackie Kennedy brought in landscape designer Rachel Lambert Mellon in 1962 to create what most of us have known as the White House Rose Garden, a lush garden with flower beds filled with color and roses.

The Trump administration is scrambling to explain why the entire East Wing of the White House was bulldozed last week — a move President Donald Trump repeatedly insisted would never happen.

Now that it’s reduced to rubble, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent pushed a new excuse, claiming the building “could have had asbestos. It could have been mold.”

Bessent’s remarks on NBC’s “Meet the Press” came as public anger intensifies over the administration’s rapid demolition to make way for Trump’s planned 90,000-square-foot ballroom — a $300 million project he intends to name after himself.

By the end of his tenure, apart from a brief revival in the first year of Covid, the deeply embedded impression among many voters was that he was the prime minister who went missing when his country needed him most, who seemed incapable of accepting responsibility when things went wrong, who always seemed to blame others for his mistakes or his failures, and who too often failed to tell them the truth.

Demoting is Decision of Dominating your life.

Ache in your soul that ignites your self in an intention to escape of this, is never your blame. Heart gave direction to flee to save what was never alone.

Ache is your stride in mind yet never under your foot. As it would never be taken nor can be lost.
