11-year-old Caine Smith was choked, beaten, harassed, and was called a long list of names simply because he had two moms and long hair. Instead of staying locked away and hiding, he stood up and did something about it.

This actually breaks my mommy heart. But, I'm so proud of this brave kid!

This is very touching, and made me cry. Bullying is such a strange social experience - asserting one's dominance on another may make sense if they were fighting for mates, but what rationale can possibly be used to explain this sort of behaviour in pre-pubescent children?
