Finished my 3rd watch of the finale episode of Season 3 of ‘Wynonna Earp’ and a lot of things happened.

Nicole almost died… again. But was saved by Doc, who found her, and with a huge bloody stab wound, managed to get her to safety and then Charlie/Julian gave up his immortality as an angel to save her life.

Charlie/Julian then passed on the ring to Waverly so now she was the next Guardian of the Garden of Eden and explained to her that she now had the power to anoint someone as a chosen hero with the capability to wield the flaming swords that belong to Charlie/Julian and Juan Carlo - one of which being Peacemaker shape-shifted into a flaming sword.

Bobo requests that Waverly end him once and for all because she is the only one who he will let end him and she does after he kills now mortal Charlie/Julian. Poor dude didn’t even get to disappear into the nothingness with all the rest of the revenants when the curse ended. But I guess he chose that brutal fate the moment he became Bulshar’s Lieutenant, willingly doing his bidding by going against the good guys.

Waverly proposes to Nicole in a pre-apocalyptic fashion, choosing to give her her ring as a keepsake but WynonnaInterrptus pulled them away from the moment before Nicole had the chance to answer her and then ended up drugging her along with the rest of her team sans Waverly so she wouldn’t be able to - unbeknownst to her of course because surely if she knew she wouldn’t have taken that moment away from them no matter how much in dire straights they all are. It only takes 2 seconds to answer a proposal after all. So glad they got to redo this whole thing.

Jeremy and Robin make a protection solution that camouflages Wynonna and Waverly from Bulshar’s bee-keeper army, allowing them to get past Bulshar’s defenses so they can destroy him once and for all.

Bulshar broke the Earp curse, leaving him apparently mortal but also apparently not either since he could still shapeshift into a snake at will. Not sure what that’s about. Maybe he is half human, half snake. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, Bulshar takes Wynonna’s blood in order to do this and then Wynonna rushes after Bulshar and Waverly follows behind her chastisizing her for her “dick move” in drugging them all. Wynonna explains that she didn’t try to drug her because they were in this together. Waverly pulls out the flaming sword that is a shape-shifted Peacemaker from the stairs and anoints Wynonna as the chosen hero of it yet again when Bulshar breaks the Earp curse. Waverly gets stuck in a force field, leaving her trapped at the entrance to the Garden just as Wynonna gets bitten by Bulshar after she kills him but Doc appears from out of nowhere to suck the venom out of her and then Waverly gets kidnapped by the Garden of Eden itself, to which Doc breaches the forcefield and follows her, leaving Wynonna behind with his pistol belt holder.

So yeah,… A LOT happened in that final episode of Season 3 but still very easy to follow. On to Season 4.

This is kinda weird, but does anyone know what type of ring Nicole and Waverly share? It’s so interesting!😶

I know they do share a ring sometimes in the early seasons but I don’t know if has a name or is a specific type of ring. Then of course we have the “bulshars ring” that they share in season 3. Anyone else know?

don’t hate me but I'm worried about Jolene again

I.. I think Jolene might’ve been Eve or Lilith. Or at least some version of her or whatever Eve’s counterpart is. 

Jolene wasn’t destroyed or shot by Peacemaker; she was trapped by trees. Kind of like when Waverly was sucked into the Garden by the roots.

We all thought Bulshar was responsible, and maybe he was, but what if the trees that snagged Jolene sent her back to the Garden? The Garden wanted Waverly, and Jolene was considered Waverly’s other half. It would make sense that it wanted her back, too. Idk maybe it’s some Cain and Abel-type thing. It would track with the food and the murder.

When Waverly went to the Garden, maybe it reestablished the balance between light and dark. She became more powerful when she claimed her birthright, but then so did Jolene or whatever Jolene was. 

this is obviously pure speculation and I’m ready to be 100% wrong but tonight is 4.05 and 3.05 was the Jolene episode and it feels weird that such an evil force just kinda.... disappeared into the forest

I already have a lot of feelings and theories about 4x03 but we all agree Cleo is Eve right?

We all agree that’s Eve? If she is in fact Eve then would her little thing with the new sheriff mean she’s found an Adam? They seemed to have something going on, plus why would she (if she were to be Eve) pick some rando to be her trusted sheriff unless it benefited her? Is that what she’s after? Why did Bulshar try getting into the garden? What did he want?

NOTE: I know the chance of me being wrong is greatly increased by the existence of my incorrect theory last week surrounding Chrissy Nedley actually being Eve...I’m wrong most of the time, I’m aware. But I’ll spin as many theories as my crazy brain can handle.

So, I’m starting to think Wynnona becoming the Heir is what ultimately saved the Earp family from Bulshar’s curse. And not just because she’s the hero of the show. I mean, from day one, she legitimately stops the curse in its tracks. Because, when you get down to it, to the heirs themselves, each generation becomes more cruel and outright bloodthirsty than the last. Check it:

First, you have Wyatt (and yes I know the gif is from Tombstone, it’s a good movie) who started the whole shebang. Not perfect, but in all of Doc & Bobo’s accounting a decent man who tried to do good. Then Josiah, his son, was referred to as noble by the Jack of Knives. So still carrying his father’s torch.

It’s when we get to Edwin that things get interesting. He’s famed as being the “One Year Wonder”. Which means he was not only good at tracking but also killing Revenants. Arguably a good trait to have in this family. However, once again looking to Jack, he’s referenced as simply ambitious. These aren’t exactly what one might call....complimentary qualities. In fact it’s left rather ambiguous what kind of man he was because he died too soon. So soon he left a two year old Ward (who became Heir in 1993, making 1966 his year of birth) to learn how to deal with the curse himself.

Ward, of course, was the worst until Willa decided opening the Ghost River Triangle was a good idea. We’re given a fairly clear image he was a drunk, abusive asshole who made deals with the very demons he was supposed to fight. A trait referred to by our dear friend Jack as “wit”. And by raising Willa to think of herself as the chosen one who needed to kill or be killed he primed her eventual turn to psychopathy.

And let’s talk Willa, because the apple does not fall far from the tree. Not to say she didn’t suffer or wasn’t further scarred by over a decade’s capture by bad guys, but she was psycho from the beginning. I mean, look how she treated Waverly. It was clear from her journal entry she picked up on Wave’s “otherness” even if she wasn’t familiar with the specifics. Unlike Wynonna, however, she used it as a basis for her treatment of her little sister. Willa clearly had no problem exerting power over those weaker than herself, and the fact Ward wouldn’t have raised a hand to help his youngest was something used to her advantage (see: the support beam episode). Waverly, who has jumped in front of monsters, revenants, and even Doc on a bad day, was scared of her. Waverly, who even revenants make an effort to protect. Even before she was the Heir, Willa was putting her us-or-them philosophy into practice. Age just made it easier for her to manipulate people.

So where does Wynnona come in?

Well, simply put, the genius of Clootie’s curse (which his wife apparently never got because she was the short-sighted one) is that it destroys the Earp family by rotting it from the inside. The snake literally laying the foundation of corruption. Each generation becomes more desperate to end or at least survive the curse and more willing to do the worst things imaginable to do it. By design, the push and pull of Revenants hiding, dying, and resurrecting was enough to slowly drive the Heirs crazy while still maintaining hell’s forces topside.

Wynnona, however, grew up with knowledge of the curse but not the weight of it. So, when it fell to her...which, in and of itself is kind of weird since Willa was still alive and curses aren’t supposed to be bound by paperwork but whatever....she, like Wyatt, was not perfect but still a person who wanted to do good. There by halting the corruption of the Earp family line and setting it back to where it started.
