Ohhhh! Spooky glyphs! What could they mean? You know who could help us translate these glyphs? Glyph. You know which obvious Bumblebee redeco had been stubbornly ignored over and over again by Hasbro? Glyph. Come on, I want my robot archaeologist!

Bumblebee seen he- wait what do you mean that's not Bumblebee?! Goddamn it! This is the second time this has happened! The first time Bumblebee was red and I confused him for being Cliffjumper. Now, Cliffjumper is yellow and I mistake him for being Bumblebee. When will this nightmare end?
Bumper (or Bumblejumper)
IDW2 Bumper appreciation post
I don't usually make appreciation posts but oh my god guys he’s so precious and no-one seems to be talking about him
Look he's so happy and excited :D
“Bumper’s first deployment was not incredible”
Why the fuck are you so cute?
Same
Bumper loses his gun privileges this is so sad
Yeah, he got brainwashed into attacking his comrades but he’s about as threatening as an angry kitten and he wasn’t hurt so I think I’m allowed to find this kind of adorable
Prowl is a prick. Someone tell bumper he is loved.
“You totally can't go around killing people on the street.” Fucking poetry. Also it was Quake that got killed so I can’t exactly advocate against that
Look at him go, charging into a battle zone to rescue someone like to courageous dumbass he is. Yeah, he did not make it out of this one fine. Probably alive, but definitely not fine. He tries so hard and gets so much shit. This boi needs way more love.
Transformers: The Basics on BUMPER!
Obscure Characters Month continues with one of the earliest and most mysterious ‘bots to whom the title applies! This is the story of how the mispackaged toy once known as “Bumblejumper” became a real part of the Transformers universe! Patreon supporters can watch early, right now!
Bumper/Bumblejumper - Transformers
Custom tech specs: Bumper, Bumblebee (Red), Cliffjumper (Yellow), Glyph, Tap-Out and Rook.
So the early releases of the Autobot Mini Cars were kinda... weird. Among the regularly-colored toys that everyone knows (Huffer, Brawn, Gears, Windcharger) is the strangeness of red Bumblebee, yellow Cliffjumper, and "Bumblejumper" (or Bumper). "Bumblejumper" began life as a Takara Microman Micro Change "Mazda Familia 1500XG." Like the toys that would become Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, it was available in three colors in Japan: yellow, blue, and red. When the Transformers toyline launched in 1984, the Familia mold didn't receive its own release or characterization - but it WAS sold, in yellow, on Cliffjumper cardbacks. Early internet fandom was under the impression the Familia mold was sold on BOTH Bumblebee and Cliffjumper cards (which it MIGHT have been, but nobody's sure now), so the Familia became known as "Bumblejumper." Over time, "Bumblejumper" got shortened to "Bumper," which was eventually canonized as the character's name by Dreamwave Productions' comic books in the early 2000s. What makes the story of "Bumper" odder is that the Familia mold WAS given an official Transformers release, complete with packaging art and character bio... by Estrela of Brazil. Unfortunately, Estrela's release is not actually helpful in figuring out what Hasbro would have called the toy, because Estrela's entire "Robocar" (Mini Car) range was renamed - Brazilian Bumblebee was "Volks" (as in Volkswagen), Brawn was "Jipe" (Portuguese for Jeep) - and so "Bumper" became the sedately-named "Sedan". Sedan's Portuguese bio translates as follows: SEDAN Function: Strategy "To be in the right place at the right time - this is the key to victory." ROBOCAR SEDAN is not super-quick nor ... an extraordinary force. But he is unsurpassed in his specialty: strategic planning of the missions of all the Robocars. His capacity for analysis and his logical reasoning are so highly developed that frequently, he anticipates future events and plans devastating surprise attacks against the enemy. He is cold-blooded and calculating. Now, if anybody follows G.I. Joe, then you might know that Estrela frequently created their own original art and character bios for the Brazilian market... so it's entirely possible that's what happened here, too. Further suggesting this idea is the fact that Sedan's art was white rather than the yellow of the American release. ("Robocar" Sedan was only available in white and blue in Brazil.) Subsequent to Sedan's release as a "Robocar," the Brazilian toyline divided the Mini Cars into the heroic "Optimus" and evil "Malignus" factions (complete with original symbols) and re-released them in new colors. As an "Optimus," Sedan was sold in yellow and green, but to date no card art of "Optimus" Sedan has surfaced. Toy-wise, that ends the story of both Bumper and Sedan, as neither of them have ever received an update. For fiction, Bumper would later show up to die in IDW’s Megatron: Origin, while another Bumper and Sedan exist (and DON’T die!) in Transformers: Animated. Was going to go into red Bumblebee and yellow Cliffjumper, but we’ve rambled enough here. Hope you enjoyed!
