Without spoiling too much, Katie and Steinwick are a very well known duo around campus because of how involved they are. And that's exactly how they met; finding social clubs to be a part of (like the "SOS" *Students for an Open-minded Society, which I made up but based it on the SDS, which Is real*).
Steinwick is pretty well liked among (most of) the students who don't automatically think he's a snob or a prick. He's very well-spoken, and seems to always know what he's talking about and is very sure of himself. Katie likes that he knows what he's about. The man (seemingly) has direction!
Katie is very much in the mind of wanting to help and improve everything around her. She's compassionate and driven and totally not terrified! She tries to see the good in everyone and opportunity in anything. Even if she doesn't know what it is yet! She tries to overcome her anxiety by pushing herself, and Steinwick likes that she's not afraid to take initiative. Sometimes.
