How to bump start your motorcycle.
If you're up shit creek like I was then this is a good source for the finer points of starting the bike. Mine was a week with out charge, lights got left on, cold block in 36 degrees f rainy weather. First get yourself to the top of a downhill slop or a long flat runway. Then get on the bike and move the kick stand all the way up. Then put the key on start and the bike in neutral and move the kill switch to run. Get ready to run and check your surroundings. Put the bike in second and start running as hard as you can. then when your up to speed push in the ignition switch and quickly feather the clutch out. When the bike starts up pull the clutch in and give it some revs. The bike will want to die so don't let it. If it doesn't work or you panic and pull in the clutch too early to stop the bike from engine braking and coming to an abrupt stop. Remember it's the same force that makes you feel like your going to endo that will save your ass here, so embrace death and move on.
Ah the dance known as the Bump Start, I have danced to this tune many times myself.
Sometimes you just gotta mess around... 😝
Bump starts. One of many reasons that no matter how advanced your automatic or auto"manual" transmission is, my car always wins.
