Yesterday I took my granny to see a favorite singer of hers at a local shopping mall. He is a big thing in the German music scene and guess what - he is gay. He is out for ages and adopted a child in 1999 with his partner and manager. They were the first “german male gay couple” (technically not true, but that’s what papers still claim. only one was officially on the papers since it was illegal) who adopted a child from Russia.   After the split up he married again and is happy with his husband. So, let’s say ... he is pretty gay AND pretty out.  So, guess what his songs are about? Love, dating women, finding the love of your life in her, the girl you dated in school, girls, women, fooling around, making love declaration to women. Talking and making love and declaring love to people in various languages. Everything that basically screams - “not so gay”. And now guess how many people see the perfect, date-able guy in him. And this is not even a joke. I heard people in the audience yesterday who were waiting for a kind of Meet &Greet thing, talking about his. You sit there and even though he came out, they are one hundred percent sure that he secretly likes woman and might come and date one of them. (side note - those two women who i am talking about got really rude towards him, because he didn’t liked them asking if he is happily married.) And like, what else can he do? His husband is with him almost every appearance, he never denied anything and still he is sold as perfect husband material.  I yesterday had to rant about this to @bunboyfriend and I feel like people still don’t get it. The point music industry is a mess.
