Could you explain your tags on the fat bird and the butterfly? Thank you.
This brilliant anon of the just as much brilliant blog @happy1days wassuggesting that the wings of the “just a fat bird” tattoo might be clipped and that might be why it’s not flying, given that swallow and sparrow tattoos” have a reputationof being emblems of rebellion against the status quo. In the UK, prisonersplace these designs on their body to show that they are jailbirds..’ (x)
I was saying I deemthis very likely, also given the message behind the butterfly and it it what itis tattoos.
We know the butterflyand It is what it is were in Liam Sparkes’ same flashdrawing, and Harry and Louis got them in the same positionon their bodies (when they hug they recreate that imagine bye)
Also,Liam Spakes has said “We started off with a butterfly on his torso based on an oldFrench prison tattoo inspired by Papillon. Traditionally it would mean thewearer is a thief - something to do with the double meaning of ‘Je vole’, whichtranslates as both ‘I steal’ and ‘I fly’ “. (x) Well, the movie Papillon isabout two characters, Henri and Louis, who are escaping prison. And Harry and Louis have complementary tattoos about this.
So yeah, I do believe they feel caged, with theirwings clipped, and I do believe they want to escape their prison.
