One of the main attractions in Boston is the Freedom Trail. This 2.5 mile long trail contains 16 historical sites. Many of these sites are from the American Revolution. A path of bricks connects the sites for the majority of the trail. I prefer to start the Freedom Trail at what is considered the end: the Bunker Hill Monument. I like starting here because it is the furthest point from central Boston and I need all the energy to climb the 297 to the top of the monument! This monument commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill. Even though it was a British victory, the British lost almost 3 times as many soldiers as the Americans did.
