I have a romantic partner who is a regressor but I personally dont know a lot about age regressing and the thought can make me a little uncomfortable but I want to know more so I can better support them but I dont know if I want to take on a caregiver role, sorry if that sounds mean at all /gen
It doesn't! It's completely fine to have boundaries and be unsure about certain things, especially something as vulnerable as regression. My advice is to look into what regression is, I have some advice for that on my account and on Instagram, and to ask your partner what it means for them. Most important of all do not force yourself into a caregiver role at all! That can be a lot of responsibility at times and if you don't enjoy it it's draining, I myself am also a carer but I used to have times where I hated caring for people and doing it actively harmed me. If u do want to give it a try listen to yourself and don't pursue something that doesn't make you happy just to please your partner. Depending on the way their regression displays etc. it might still be important to be educated on it in case they involuntarily regress around you so neither of you get overwhelmed or uncomfortable. Most regressors can stop involuntary regression and at least learning how to help them get out of the headspace could be helpful already! As a summary I guess id say it's important to educate yourself Abt regression and specifically your partner's regression and to listen to yourself! At times relationships don't work out because of boundaries and that's fine! No one should compromise their own comfort for a relationship.
