Private design commission for my pal @pastrytown for the king of his coming comic series 'Medical Malpractice'! Designing the king was a lot of work and fun, and in the end I'm really pleased with the results (as is my client of course!)

I'm absolutely honored you chose me to design an important character for you; thank you so much for your support! I can't wait to see him in action someday! :)

the first image is of three busts of a white middle aged man with gold spotted eyes and long wispy and wavy light brown hair tied back in a ponytail by a purple ribbon. He has a close shaved beard. In the left bust he has an intricate roman helmet and sun shaped crown with many points, orange gems, and a large pearl in the center. In the left and middle busts he is wearing thick makeup similar to historical white powder and war paint with purple lash-like makeup painted over his eyes and nose bridge with dark red around his brow line. his lips are painted dark red with gold outlining them and going across his eye on the right. The right bust is the same man without makeup.

the second image is the front and back of a man dressed in historical royal clothing in purple and olive green decorated with intricate gold lace patterns on the vest, jacket trim and shoulders, sleeve cuffs, and back. He is also wearing white gloves, a cravat, and buttoned wraps over high heeled boots. leather straps wrap just bellow his knees and over his boots clasped with gold buckles. his face is painted with period accurate makeup with red lips, red dusted cheekbones, and purple eye shadow.

the third image is the same man from the previous image but now wearing a large royal purple cape lines with cream colored fur that has small black spots speckled over it. the cape has two patterns, a dark purple one and a gold lace one. on his right shoulder is an ornate platinum gold pauldron with amber orange gems. A large sun shaped amulet sits on the front of the cape with chains connecting it to a similar smaller one on the back with small orange gems hanging from the chain. He has similar jewelry with pearl and orange gems throughout his hair and on his ears. A pointed roman helmet and sun spike shaped crown wraps around his head with the same gemstones. His makeup is darker and more dramatic with darker red lips, darker purple makeup across both his eyes like war paint, and gold speckling over his cheeks.
