Reginald Bunthorne and Malvolio are directly related, fight me! 😆
Hi my name is Reginald "Bunny" Bunthorne and I have long fluffy black hair (that’s how I got my name) with white streaks and curly tips that reaches my neck and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like James McNeill Whistler (AN: if u don’t know who he is get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to Oscar Wilde but I wish I was because he’s utterly utter consumately aesthetic. I’m a British man but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I’m also a poet, and I live in a mouldy ruin of a building called Bunthorne Castle in England where I’m in the third year of my residence (I’m twenty-two). I’m a poet (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear mostly dirty greens. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a dark purple velvet suit with gold buttons and a black cravat, white hose and black opera shoes. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and purple eye shadow. I was walking outside Bunthorne Castle. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was not very happy about. A lot of lovesick maidens stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
Which Literary Lawyer is the Solicitor who advised Reginald Bunthorne to raffle himself off in Gilbert&Sullivan’s Patience?
Jonathan Harker (Dracula)
Gabriel Utterson (Jeckyll & Hyde)
Robert Holt (The Beetle)
Godfrey Norton (Sherlock Holmes)
Hi! I'm the Gondoliers anon! :D I LOVE your new art--the colors are great! Made my day! For headcanons, some of my more ingrained ones include Strephon, a little bit tan with nice brown hair like his dad, a little wave in it, and taller than both of his parents; Phyllis, very clear, defined features, with rich brown hair, darker than Strephon's (just decided to do something else than blonde)... Unoriginally, I'll assimilate stage versions. I enjoy Bunthorne with checkered poof pants, white socks
Interesting! My main idea for Strephon was to give him his dad's hair and his mom's eyes (based on the designs I made), and for him to have a vague puckish quality.
I'd want to simplify this a little bit, but I think I'm on the right track.
And I like that costume for Bunthorne too, the 60s one.
Oscar Wilde Anecdote #35
The play Patience was written in mockery of aesthetes like Wilde, and the character Bunthorne was quite clearly based on Oscar himself. When he went to see the play in America, he was asked what he thought of writers drawing inspiration from his personality, and he replied, “Caricature is the tribute which mediocrity pays to genius.”
Reginald Bunthorne with a POINSETTIA.....because 'tis the season, and sunflowers are just SOOOOOO 1881 😂
And when the Starburst Berries and Cream Little Lad grew up, he became....
REGINALD BUNTHORNE!!! 😄
(early 20th century poster, found on Google)
Reginald Bunthorne is very annoyed because Archibald Grosvenor has a new nickname for him...
"Hey, BUNNY! "
then Lady Angela and Lady Saphir call him that, too...😆
