Touya stood in line at the help counter inside of the local pet store, his hands twisting the corner of his jacket as he rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet.
He figured that his apartment was too lonely, and in a fit of courage he'd ventured out to look at possible companions. When thinking about what type of animal he wanted to live with him, he thought of three main possibilities.
Cat, dog, and rabbit.
The dog was quickly ruled out due to how loud one could get, even though they could occasionally be insanely cute. Perhaps when he moved into a house of his own one day he'd buy small dog. He then considered a rabbit, though after looking up how they generally were in house holds, the option was also scratched off of his list. Apparently, while rabbits were adorable, they tended to be... boring.
This left Touya with the possibility of choosing a kitten, the brunette quickly decided that he wanted to playful kitten to start out with. He was fortunate to not have any allergies-- setting him up for a nearly perfect candidate. He didn't do much besides go to school, so the kitten would receive plenty of attention.
When it was his turn to speak to a store owner, he explained what he was looking for before being directed towards the general area for cats. He was then told that more help was available in the direct area if applicable, and to have a nice time within the store.
Once he reached the area, he immediately felt as in at least six sets of eyes were on him, looking over to one case only to see if filled with small kittens.
"Oh-- this is going to be hard..."
