Bolognese and A Burger Stand

AWESOME: Ragu Alla Bolognese

I found this at Erwan Heussaff's The Fat Kid Inside. The food there are all good, so you know what to expect.

Take a look at the ingredients. Learn it, eat it, live it.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup chopped onion

2/3 cup chopped celery

2/3 cup chopped carrot

3/4 pound ground lean beef (preferably chuck or the meat from the neck)

salt

freshly ground black pepper

1 cup milk

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (preferably freshly grated)

1 cup dry white wine

2 cups canned Italian tomatoes

NOT AWESOME: Burger Machine

Burger Machine was good, until they decided not to care anymore. 

This particular stand is the reason why I included them in NOT AWESOME. One day at work, I was craving for danger. Any food that was tasty and had disease lurking around the corner was a good candidate. But other than that, I also wanted meat, so BM was the only choice at 3:45AM. 

So this girl was working the fryer that dawn, and she looked nice enough to answer my questions, like 1) "Ilang minutes pag nag order ako ng Ultimate Double Burger?" and "Miss, anong oras na?". But I forgot that looks can be deceiving. She back-sassed me with "Sir, isa lang po ako, sandali lang." and "Sir, ayun po yung orasan oh."

I took a moment to choose between being irritated by this wench that probably didn't know what customer fracking service is, or remaining calm because this wench probably didn't know what customer service is.

So I left, and decided never to eat in that Burger Machine ever again. Aside from the fact that if I go there every morning there's a large probability I will be seeing that fry cook, the stand was right beside a canal!

I like a little danger, but that little flaw in relations with a customer made me realize that it isn't worth it to be sick AND disappointed. So yeah, never again.
