❝ i’m so glad i met you. ❞

Truly? Shiro hesitated, lips parted as if he intended some semblance of a reply. He inhaled, smiling tightly, a bit of nervousness twitching at the corners of such. How odd that he would say such a thing, what with Shiro’s most horrid habit of night terrors, awaking his master in the dead of the night, the old soldier inconsolable as he cried out names that, of course, the albino would have no way of knowing, nor divining who such people had been. The surprise acrost Shiro’s features was evident, something unguarded and vulnerable in the gesture. Accept the compliment, his mind instructed him, to refute it was to indicate that a certain part of him retained a degree of disdain for himself. He laughed, perhaps too tightly to be genuine, head shaking in the slightest. Shiro lowered his own shoulders, uncrossing his arms, as if looking for less tense posture. He cared for his master, he did, perhaps more than he had any right to, yet the mere notion of damning him to whatever personal hell Shiro had gotten himself within was disgusting. Let him destroy himself and bring not another into the proverbial equation. ❝ ... thank you. I’m glad I’ve met you too. It’s been... interesting, to say the least. I can’t imagine learning magic from anyone else. ❞
