I took a late afternoon walk yesterday around my old stomping grounds, the Mill Pond Conservation Area in Burlington. This time I left from my parents’ house on Mill Street and walked in from the Chandler Road/Ellery Lane side. I got there a little after 5:30 and was out right at sunset and covered exactly four miles. Just as I was exiting I made friends with two shy deer. They looked at me and didn’t like what they saw, so they made their way deeper into the woods.
