As a fnaf fan, I find it so f***ing annoying that 95% of the fanbase operates SOLELY on groupthink when it comes to the lore and act out when ever someone has a slightly different interpretation of it. Like, guys, it’s purposely left cryptic on purpose so you can fill in the blanks and come up with your own conclusions, not “THEY DON’T HAVE THE SAME INTERPRETATIONS AS ME/US, LET’S KILL THEM!!!!!!” So I decided to share my own interpretations of the fnaf lore that contradicts with what the consensus is (also, please don’t call this an AU, this is what I genuinely believe the lore is, not fan fiction):
1. I believe that Michael Afton is either the Crying Child or a fourth unseen sibling, not Foxybro
2. I don’t think that Peter Dinglewood is meant to be Foxybro or Michael Afton or that his brother Evan is meant to be the Crying Child, I think both he and his brother are non-canon and irrelevant to the lore
3. I think the person speaking through altered text is Charlie, not the Crying Child/Michael
4. I think that the FBF books are either non-canon and irrelevant or are only 25-50% canon, not that they’re meant to be allegories for the game’s lore
5. I believe that Burntrap/Springtrap is William Afton who escaped from Hell after Cassidy put her soul to rest in the OMC easter egg by drowning herself in the water, not the Mimic
6. I believe that the Princess Quest Princess is Cassidy, not Vanessa or a random AI
7. I believe TOYSNK is Cassidy, not Andrew
8. I think Mustard Man is William’s abusive father, not William himself
9. I think the TV person is William’s mother, not Michael or Foxybro
10. I think fnaf 3 is set in 2017, not 2023
Bonus beliefs:
1. I believe FFPS is set in 2017, not 2024
2. I believe that the lake from the OMC easter egg is meant to an afterlife portal similar to the River of Styx from Greek Mythology with Cassidy listening to OMC’s advice, not UNC with Cassidy ignoring OMC
3. I believe that Security Breach is set in 2022, not 2035
4. I believe that OMC is meant to be a Grim Reaper/Ferry Man type figure, not Henry
5. I believe that Henry is the creator of Fredbear and Spring Bonnie and that he was also the one who came up with the idea for FFD and that William only decided to help Henry as a business partner so he could turn is idea into a front, not that William is the creator.
But anyway, that’s my headcanon of what the lore of fnaf is. Also please try to be respectful, fnaf is very cryptic and encourages people to come up with their own conclusions rather than giving into groupthink. Otherwise, have a great day!!!
