Amethyst in: Rocky Start.
Amethyst didn’t have to hear the clanking away at the construction of a Earth-burrowing mechanism while she was stowed away in her room, nor did she have to anyone comment on how lucky they were to be in the situation they were now after the trouble that had occurred. She really did like being alone in the quietness of her room, even though she often came off as the most social of all the gems. Being alone had its perks, like getting to take time to really consider the weight of one’s actions. ...wait, that’s the part Amethyst hates about being alone...
She’d glance back up at the bubbled gem above her. She felt like if she kept glancing back and forth from the ground to that bubble, she’d eventually grow sick of ruminating in her thoughts and make a decision. However, a part of her liked the feeling of being frozen, getting as much time as she possibly needed to do what she felt was right. It was awfully fitting, and morbidly ironic, since Jasper in that bubble was essentially frozen in the exact moment she got poofed. A part of her began to feel anxious, realizing how long it’s been since the others have seen her. Garnet was not one to let those things go unnoticed. And sure, Pearl would often be the type to come storming in with complaints about her avoiding responsibilities, but this was a circumstance where she could see that spear-wielding gem minding her own business.
However, the seer of the group often had a habit of feeling like it was her duty to tend to every gem’s issues personally.
“Okay, Amethyst, make up your mind... if you had the guts to take the bubble out of the Burning Room, you should have the guts to decide if you’re gonna pop it or just leave it floating...” Before Steven came along, she was the runt of the group, thinking she didn’t fit in being completely lost when it came to the war. And even after Steven, she felt like she was unfit to do any of the things she was supposed to do for him. But now, Jasper was... well, not really here, but still sort of here... and she was in almost a similar position, being lost about what was true and what wasn’t.
It would be nice to be on the same page with someone, someone who’s also a Quartz soldier. There would be room for improvement, and room to fill in some cracks, but it’d be easier together than apart. Jasper will be better off confused but in one piece than she could, say... falling down a ravine, or with a piece of metal flung through her body. And with that, Amethyst would make the move... With just a single whip crack, the bubble was popped. Jasper’s gem began to descend and reform before her very eyes...
~ ~ ~ If you enjoyed this, please consider reblogging so more people can see it! Likes are nice but reblogs are what help people learn about the blog so it can get more followers, and then I can receive more asks! I like the ask format of this since it is so interactive but I do see that I often have chunks of time without anything in the inbox, and I think it’ll fix that if I get more people to see this! Don’t be afraid about reblogging a post without context, I feel like anyone confused can go back to read the earlier installments!
After steven leaves the beach city, the post credits arriving, Chely is in burning room, holding pink diamond's gem , unbubbled it, released it, with Rhombulus' head and amit it, trapped it in the crystal.
