How do you feel about the Half Life franchise then? They are in very fictional settings but there’s a fair amount of more militaristic parts especially in the first game. (I especially mean this in terms of design and feel, as you did state FPS aren’t really your thing)

I've only really played and beat HL2 (not the first game or any of the episodes), and I actually enjoy it a lot! Single player FPS games, for me, are majorly dependent on if I'm able to enjoy the story and characters even if a good chunk of the game involves killing people. In Half Life's case, the story, characters, and creature designs more than make up for the occasional human death.

The same thing also goes for Borderlands as well; great story, fun characters (*coughclaptrapismyfavcough*) and creature designs, a very distinct and lovely style for the whole game, and a co-op mode that involves everyone working together puts it up there as one of the few FPS games I enjoy playing!

Have you seen the glitch where 2 frogs walk up each other in BBT? It's quite funny.

THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME THE OTHER DAY and all I said out loud was “Oh. okay game sure why not” and tried to screencap it but was too late.

BBT can have some pretty goofy glitches especially when the game lags out. See these images.
