also i dont have a fully baked thought on this yet but its interesting how quick lumon is to jump to eroticism as something to demonize and as a justification for firing employees. cobel and burt's terminations both being explained as developing some sort of 'erotic fixation' with a coworker. it feels so weirdly intense compared to the sterility of everything else there and even if either of those things had been taking place it feels like something the company would be more eager to sweep under the rug

ok wtf is going on with outtie irving. he’s ex-military/a veteran. he’s investigating lumon. he is clearly suspicious of lumon. but he goes back to work anyway. he paints the same door he sees over and over again. he’s trying to send a message to his innie. he drinks coffee at like 8pm. he blasts rock music. he has a dog (veteran support animal?). he’s communicating with someone via public telephone (to investigate lumon?). he gets fired twice in like a week. he just seems more serious and reserved than innie irving. he has a sick jacket. he’s always dressed like he’s ready for espionage. he’s being stalked by some guy. he confronts said guy. said guy says they supposedly had an erotic workplace relationship. guy invites him to dinner with his husband and outtie irv accepts. he combs his mustache beforehand. he witnesses their mess of a marriage and then lwk asks burt out after. what. what is his deal i must know.
